I was wondering if any of you guys and gals have invested in Legion M or even better, pitched to them? I know someone who's part of the production for The Man In The White Van as a writer. She's WGA, but I don't know if you have to be.

I would LOVE to be part of something like this!

Legion M is a production company that styles itself as the world's first fan-owned entertainment

I've heard of them, they've been around for a few years now. Never pitched to them, though. Will definitely check out their website. Haven't looked into them in a few years since I first heard about them. They have built a nice catalog from what I hear.

I hadn't heard of them before. I've seen similar financing packages directed only to accredited investors before, but over the last year or so I've been seeing other film financing stocks pop up, usually studio offerings though. This is the first one I've seen offered in this way, very cool.

What the heck, I invested a little. We'll see where it goes. I'm still waiting for the opportunity to trade in single-film securities, but that might never happen.

You mean Cantor Exchange? I was so pissed when they banned that. Was convinced I would make millions lol.

Me too. I was all ready to start trading when it got axed. Guess my HSX portfolio will have to do, but that's like being really good at fantasy drafts with no prizes.

Nope, never. I did have a good wonder around the website. The FAQ page was a little concerning.

I guess $100 isn't that much to invest at the low end, but who knows. I guess like all investments, and as they say on the site, only invest what you are happy to lose.

Never heard of them, but there are tonnes of production companies out there that I'm completely oblivious about. I'll take a look at their website.

I first started to hear about them in 2017, I think. Then when they had a fundraiser/investment drive in 2018, I thought why not. Even if it failed, I thought it was a cool idea and I like supporting indie filmmakers and start-ups. Since then, they've grown a lot and now they're starting to deal with real money and talent. They do it right too. No, "we can't pay you, but you'll get credit" BS. They pay people properly for their time and talent. I'd like to help out on set one day. I'd do that for free, just because I think that would be fun.  :)

Thanks for the heads-up.

*Looks around the website, sees something with the same title I want to use*

They're evil! ;)

Looks like really interesting model, even if seeing it did create some more work for me.

You convinced me Pia! I threw some money at them.

Some cool movies there.

Today, they start principal photography on The Man In The White Van in Louisiana. Last week, I got an email asking me if I wanted to be an extra or if I had a vintage car they could use. I would have jumped on this if it wasn't 10 hrs away. The writer, btw, lives in Jax and is a friend of Dena.  8)

When I first bought into this, I did it because I like to support filmmakers that are not part of the studio system and are just trying to make some films. Turns out this actually seems to shape up into a real thing. They started their 8th fundraising today and the films are getting bigger and better with better actors. They also just sold a TV series. Who knew!!!  :)

Well, the shares are now $15/each.  :)
