I dropped a serialized version of my short COLD BLOOD into this one.

It's a killer idea. Not sure my pitch did it justice.

Guess we'll see.

Thanks, guys.

At this point, I feel like my writing is better than my ability to pitch. I'm trying to fix that by finding different places to pitch. I'm getting better. But, it's a slow climb.

Best of luck, Paul! (Not that you need luck, you're a helluva good writer)

Thanks everybody. I don't really hope anymore to be chosen. (I did at first.) Now I look at it more as an exercise, with the tiny chance that something could come of it.

In the meantime, I'll keep plugging away at the feature version of the project.

Good luck, Paul.

I entered into the female-lead thriller and grounded Sci-Fi. I don’t think I have it in me to do another of those applications, but I found it interesting in terms of what they’re looking for. And it proved to me that I am in no way a salesman of my own ideas. It’s a huge learning curve for most writers who are generally introverted like me.

The application is a bear, that's for sure. I think I've only missed two so far. (I didn't submit to the first one or to the musical competition round -- though I do have a comedy feature centered on a banjo competition!!) Each application I fill out gets a little bit tighter. I think I'll make it a goal on the next one to make each answer a paragraph or less.

What I'd really like, is to get chosen for the LA-based fellowship. Worst case scenario... 8-week screenwriting fantasy camp! Best case scenario... project gets picked up. That's a win-win.

I hope they kick those back up.
