So this is a full-hour pilot based on the half-hour pilot which in turn was based on the Writer's Tournament entry Unwitting Accomplice.

This script advanced to the finalist round of Script2Comic 2023, which is the furthest I've gotten in any scriptwriting contest. Not quite a win, but my best showing so far.

Wow, Frank. I'm not big into Superheroes, reluctant or otherwise, but I read a bit of this and have to say: great work! Can see why it placed highly in the comp.

Mal Suerte is a real character, some great touches of humour throughout, and you built a very immersive world around him.
Thought I'd bump it so hopefully get more eyes on it.

I basically see these comps as a way to get coverage on the script, and I found the coverage from this one helpful in developing the script. A bit pricey for 4 or 5 pages, but had actionable advice rather than everyone-gets-a-trophy drivel to lure you into paying for more praise for a script with no hope of going anywhere.

Two most useful bits were to switch from a half-hour format (like a good ol' fashioned Saturday morning cartoon) to full-hour drama (like Heroes, The Boys, Invincible, etc.), and to do a better job of linking one conflict to the next with visibly rising stakes. So this is really what I had envisioned being the first two episodes.

Your comment about the humor is just a reminder that I can only write funny when I'm trying to write realistic dialog back-and-forth without explicitly trying to be funny.
