SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /   General Chat  /  getting published in a (obscure) literary journal!

Hi all

Just wanted to humblebrag here. I told this to some IRL friends but none of them write, so they didn't quite understand the significance.

A (small and local) literary journal has emailed me in response to a submission I made nearly a full year ago offering to publish a short story I wrote. I don't get paid and the journal is based out of a local university press and I imagine it has a small circulation, but my name will be in physical print (or at least the name I choose to attach to my writing).

The submission guidelines are really specific and CIA-like so I'm not sure I can name all the details yet, but once it's all done I'll link a copy to the edition and you can pay to read it if you want!

I still prefer writing for screenplays, but what are ya gonna do?

Thanks L! I actually think I posted the short story on the boards once, but don't tell anyone.

Very nice! Getting published is a big deal, they can lead to remarkable things and literary journals are quite popular.
