Asking for James,

Hi, I am trying to find a no frills script formatting service, I have written my very first screenplay and done the best I can in word using YouTube tutorials.  I want it properly formatted, it’s around 83 pages and 14800 words.  The only place I have found is ‘no bull’ and they are talking about two to three grand, which seems crazy.

Have you information around individuals/companies who provide this service for a reasonable fee?

Thanks

James

Have you tried Fivver?

Has anyone else gone with a formatting service to format a script written in word to industry format?

FIVR has tons of people for this service. THis site is $350:

BUT - I would implore James not to do this. If he wants to write - then he should learn. Just my opinion

Download free screenwriting software for your next project, James!
The Word/YouTube tutorial thing has to be torture and nobody has go to through that anymore.

I used to do screenwriting editing, re-formatting, typos, grammar, including rewriting  ESL scripts  (which is exhausting btw,) and the reason it can be so expensive is because it's incredibly time consuming. It was never in the thousands though. That sounds more like a Ghostwriting service. ScreenplayReaders are established and reliable.

With Fivver or equivalent, the quality of service is going to vary enormously - you'd want a sample before you commit.

Trelby will do the job first try right out the gate.  Keep in mind that the software is no longer being developed.  What you download is what you have forever.  No changes, unless you can, or you know someone who can program, you can get the source code and make changes.  Still, it's terrific stuff:

I second Trelby. It has everything you need to write a script, and it's completely free. I use it almost exclusively and swear by it.

Fourth. I used to use the classic desktop Celtx, but it eventually started losing revisions. Trelby has been such a lifesaver. You might miss out on some of the pre-production stuff Celtx has/d, but all you really need is a blank page and words.

Try Kit Scenarist. It's desktop-based and does everything. It also has a dark mode.
