I have retconned the rules to read all entries...

Wanted to participate in this one, was working on a comedy where a young roman scribe gets hired by a high-ranking nobleman to document the end of his family's dynasty in Pompeii during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Couldn't get anything rolling on this idea though.

I'll give all entries a read anyways, really interested to see what people came up with.

Read and commented on them all, and voted too, some interesting scripts here... well done all for entering.

Yeah, life got right in the middle of my intent too. I was also working on a comedy combining footage from 4-6 phones from high school students on a class trip found in the remains of a museum. The dark lord Ba'al had been rumored to be trapped in a sealed urn for many millennia only to be released by a couple stoners joking around. The working title is "Ba'al's Out" with many running jokes/one-liners centered around his name (e.g., Ba'al's in a jar, Ba'al's on your chin, Ba'al's in your mouth...oh yeah, I could go on and on). Now that Ba'al's free, he's creating world-wide havoc and devastation.

Anywho, I'll do my best to read all the entries as well. Good luck all!

I've read them all. The found footage aspect probably put many off. It's not a story method I'm comfortable with at all.

Apparently family visiting from out of town during the week of my son's birthday makes it slightly more difficult to write a script.

I'm still going to finish mine and put it up here.

I like the idea of it and it's a bit of a challenge to make it work.

Keep your eyes out for a random found-footage quickie.

Fully intended to write one for this challenge but Mum ended up in hospital with Covid on Friday.
I just read that Pia's similarly been dealing with Covid affecting family. Ugh!!

Now Mum appears to be out of the woods l'm looking forward to reading and commenting.  :D
Great job all who entered!

I'm disappointed there were only 7 scripts entered. I know the found-footage thing isn't everyone's bag. Well, it isn't mine either. In fact, I loathe found-footage and I avoid them completely. However, this was a challenge. One writer here even returned jet-lagged and still managed to fire one off.

Excuses abound, but, honestly, come on guys.

Good for you, Storey!
Next time there's an OWC tell your writer friends. Tell anyone you know who has an inkling to write!
Numbers ebb and flow.
Oh, for the days we used to hit 40-plus.

Said jet-lagged writer fell asleep having not finished with 8 hours to go, woke up in a daze, went to bed, remembered he hadn't finished the script DOH! Went back downstairs, finished and submitted it with about 4 hours to go...

But, I suspect there's a lot going on for people with Covid still out there, holiday season, schools breaking up etc.

Hopefully next one we will get some more entrants, and in the meantime - as Libby says - tell any other writer friends you have about the site and challenges.
