Wasn’t sure where to post this, so apologies if I messed up.

Just typed FADE OUT on the first draft of what will be my last feature. It’s my 13th and I think that is enough.

Logline:

TITLE: In Search of Vulcan

LOGLINE:  After an emotionally sensitive Star Trek nerd is left at the altar by a scamming fiancé, he spends a drunken night binge-watching Star Trek only to wake the next morning believing he is the real Spock.

GENRE: Quirky comedy

Comps: RAIN MAN meets LARS AND THE REAL GIRL

I could not load this script to the site because the file size exceeds the limits.  Reason: This script has pictures. I know you are not supposed to have pictures in scripts – I don’t care because this script will never be sold anyway because ---

It is a fanboy script that steps on IP. Basically, it was just a passion project.

If you are a fan of Star Trek, you might enjoy it. If you are not, you probably won’t.

If you are interested – it is hosted here:

https://dlambertson.wixsite.com/scripts/feature-scripts

Just click on the script with the picture of Spock.

Started reading this Dave, and though only a minor-Trekkie fan you'll be pleased to know I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Will continue...

In the meantime could you please clarify why your parentheticals address is 'at' and not 'to'?

Love the pics btw!

Cool! At vs. To ... because I keep making that mistake despite Warren noting it a million times. Brain freeze

Done, didn't take notes because of what this script is but there are a few typos and words mixed around here and there. Not many though.

Loved it! Just a great feel good script. FYI... Lars and the Real Girl is in my top ten films of all time so it wasn't a hard sell.

I did feel the mother and sheriff's relationship added no real value and felt a bit shoehorned in.

Also two things that felt a little too convenient were that Katie was from Vulcan and that her dad needed a Spock. Both are instrumental to the story but they did take me out of the read for a second. Maybe they could or couldn't be disguised a bit more, either way it wasn't a massive deal for me but thought they were worth mentioning.

Other than that I haven't got a whole lot for you, a fun read :)

The pictures didn't bug me at all.

Nice one, Dave.

Should have taken notes, I did add a couple more that came to mind to my original post just then.

No problem, I've been looking forward to it :)

No problem.  I'll be editing this a couple of times.  Wife is currently doing my typo search :)
