Okay, okay, I know...why would I even have the desire to watch another Roland Emmerich disaster movie. Well, it just came out on HBOmax and, dammit, I'm a sucker for the illogical and implausible movie that is totally intended to be outlandish. I was not disappointed! Not sure the budget for this epic (yes, epic!) sci-fi but the SFX/CG was top-notch. Did you know Halle Berry was in it? I didn't either (she still looks 30-something).

No spoilers because you wouldn't believe it anyway. The trailer does not do it justice (total marketing failure for it's theatre run) and isn't worth watching.

Go into this blind and check all your logic at the door. It's a fun and insane ride. So ridiculous.

I laughed all the way through it, sometimes in the places the filmmaker intended ;-)

I just have 2 words to say about this film...PURE CINEMATIC GENIUS.

The story was solid without any kind of plot holes at all.

The science was so accurate it was as if Einstein, Hawking, and Hubble all got drunk one night, had a love child, and it was this love child that supervised the film.

The acting was on par with anything Daniel Day-Lewis has put out in the past decade. I smell Oscar for the entire cast.

And the moment when Halle Berry's son was talking to her, and the lack of emotion trickled out from his being, the flatness of his performance... truly one of the highlights of this film.
It did the opposite of pulling tears from my eyes. It dried them up. I had to use Visine to be able to see again. I didn't know this was possible in a film.

That's cinema its most very extreme stupendous average.

And the way it ended... oh dear God... Please. PLEASE! PLEASE!!! let there be a sequel.

I'm buying presale tickets now.

P.S. Please read the above in sarcastic font.

I second the motion for a sequel. The ending left me on the edge on my seat!

After spending a day out with a 3 and 5-year-old, I decided to slump on the sofa with a glass of wine and let this movie fall into my eyeballs.

It is terrible in so many ways but I was too exhausted to give a toss, so I actually ended up enjoying this utter bonkers mess.

Although, I would definitely not watch it again.

Even in my zombie-like state, the massive exposition dump did make me groan.
