Anyone else watching or am I the only one drawn to such shows? ;D

I've always liked Evan Peters since I first watched AHS. Now I think he's pretty amazing!!!

It was technically well-made and acted, but it was just too bleak for me. Theres zero hopefulness in it - Dahmer is monstrous beyond comprehension and victims are doomed. Bleakness is fine if it’s provocative or unique but we also already know Dahmers story.

Greetings from the darkness.

Do people still hook up with strangers nowadays?

Hmm, was binge watching it the other night and I am a bit of a Dahmer connoisseur, I've studied him in my Abnormal Psychology class, but this series has expanded my understanding of his mentality and life trajectory. He was a very non-descript character, the Heinrich Himmler of serial killers - a non-entity whose obsessive need for dead bodies seemed hugely incongruous with his blank expression and dour demeanor.

One of the better series "based on true events" I've seen in a while.

I think the song by KC and the sunshine band” please don’t go" now will forever creep me out when I hear it.  Anywaz, can't wait for the sequel. Dumb and Dahmer. :D _ghostie gal

I liked it and thought it was pretty darn good. Excellent production and acting. Is it bleak? Yes, of course. We all know the story, so we go in knowing how it's going to go and end. I think what got me was how they managed to make me feel sympathy for Dahmer! A true monster and horrible person, but I guess what did it was that he knew from an early age that there was something wrong with him and he wanted help. He did get some help, but couldn't keep from doing these horrible things. I thought his story was tragic and I wonder how much of his mother's drug use while pregnant played part of his mental make up.

Anyway, a recommend from me... unless you'e squeamish.

I watched this over the weekend. While I found it original that this was told from Dahmer's and his victim's point of view, I found myself missing the police investigation aspect of it. At least it would've been a group of people with a goal to accomplish. I don't think they left much on the cutting room floor here. This was 10 episodes that felt like it should've been 6 or 7. It did drag for me a bit.

I agree with Pia, it does make an effort to get you to sympathize for Dahmer. I felt his father's pain in this even more so. The biggest takeaway I got from this was just how sloppy Dahmer was and how amazing it is that he got away with this for as long as he did. It's definitely worth a watch, I just thought the pacing was a tad slow.

I don't sympathize with Dahmer -he deserves none- but i understand him.

I don't believe he was evil. what he did was evil, but I don't think Dahamer himself was evil.
Ted Bundy was evil. John Wayne Gacy was evil.
Dahmer was just a very sick person who committed horrible, egregious acts, but never out of hate or malice. he wasn't a sadist. It was simply an overwhelming compulsion to fill the void in himself. mostly sexual and social. i found it interesting how they paralleled his crimes with alcoholism. a drinkers need to keep drinking. an addiction almost.

what stood out was his relationship to his father. and how Lionel - for all of his failings as a father in raising Jeff, was there for him through the worst of Jeff's crimes... and stood by him til the end. to this day he refused to change his last name and disappear into anonymity.

I think the series is very well done, bleak and dark as noted but it kinda had to be.

I find the watch quite horrifying as I keep shouting at the TV "why doesn't someone do something?!" as he keeps getting reported by the people around him, yet the Police do very little - a combination of racism and homophobia I guess.

Evan Peters is mesmerizing as Dahmer, I was already a fan, but this is truly incredible.

This isn't a series I could ever say I enjoyed, but I do respect the hell out of it.

Love Evan Peters, loved the show and i live about 20mins away from Dalmers house in Bath Ohio. My wife and I do a lot of hiking in the Cuyahoga National Park so it's pretty eerie to drive round the roads he use to..
