Google's Synopsis:

Quoted Text
Bella Cherry arrives in Los Angeles with dreams of becoming an adult film star, but she soon learns that fame won't come easy as she harnesses her ambition and cunning to rise to the top of this mesmerizing and singular world.

Basically the polar inverse of Boogie Nights, with way more dicks and jizz on screen.

Ninja Thyberg directs sex scenes the same way an 80s action movie would frame hand-to-hand combat - full of danger, like a fight to the death. A lot of critics said the movie is nuanced and balanced about the sex industry but I certainly did not get that impression.

I was annoyed when I came across this because I've been writing a sort-of similar spec about the porn industry, but it's a great movie. I highly recommend if you have the stomach for it.

Watched the trailer. Looks good. Have Always been fascinated by the seedy side of things.

Don't watch it with your parents

There's a scene about halfway through that is perhaps the most unpleasant sex scene I've watched. Including Gasper Noe's filmography

Fantastic movie.

For what it's worth, I have a friend who worked in porn for a lot of years, including with many of the people that appear in Pleasure, and he said that its depiction of the industry was completely fair and extremely accurate.

MINOR SPOILERS

My friend shared one in-joke with me: the guy who plays the male performer who needs injections to get it up is, in reality, a performer specifically known for 100% reliability who's actually the guy that people call in to save the day when another performer is having erection problems.

Imagine getting that call on a Tuesday night.
