Okay, I loved it.
Pia, I know I'm breaking the rules.  :D
This is like the horrific version of Be Right Back (Black Mirror)
Great as a Short and would also make for a great Feature.

Hey Libby. Thanks! I didn't expect anyone to read since it said for production.  ;D

I wrote this one for the same guy I wrote Tangled Web. He wanted the same cabin, but a drama. He also sent me some news videos from Japan, in Japanese... that he wanted me to checkout. Basically it was about AI companions that can imitate someone's voice. We've seen a couple of those this week with music and also that fake interview with Michael Schumacher. Kind of scary, IMO. I have no idea what's real or not anymore.  :-/

Anyway, it's been almost two weeks and I haven't heard back from him, so I figured I'd put it here. Thanks for reading. :)

I was excited to see you posted a new offering, and this one didn’t disappoint!  I so admire your writing style and have decided I want to be you when I grow up LOL. Seriously though, I love this - it’s so eerie and as mentioned before…timely. Someone needs to develop a new “Twilight Zone” series, this could be a front runner for the debut.  Please keep us updated if plans go forward to produce this. I would love to see the finished product. FWIW, if that guy doesn’t respond to this perfect little short, he’s a few cards shy of a full deck. Wishing you so much luck with this!

Thanks! :)

My writing used to be atrocious, but since I wasn't very good at English and totally sucked at grammar, I learned early on to be as brief with my language as possible because there was less chance I would seem illiterate that way. That's how "my style" started and it works well for screenplays, but not so much for prose.  :-/

About the guy, I think he's Chinese and lives in Tokyo. I don't know if they just don't have the same email/communication etiquette as we do, but he's very slow to get back with me. We'll see what'll happen.  :)

Hey Pia!

The story's too great to have read and not comment on!

Wonderful visuals! A captivating story from the start! Even just 4 pages in, I already had a feeling that I knew her whole backstory.

A very interesting move with the drone delivering AI Jay. It adds a great element of danger and awareness that something wicked might be lurking in the next pages.

This was all around an absolute joy to read!

Hey Mark! Great to see you pop up here. Hope life is treating you well.

Thank you for the kind words! I still have not heard a peep from the filmmaker I wrote it for. :-/

I hope we get to see some of your work here again. You're known for writing some great stuff. Heavy sometimes, but always with an emotional punch especially.

:)

I will be uploading some stuff in the coming months. Most of them will be updates to some older stuff to update my e-mail address and the software. (Lol! I had forgotten almost every script I sent in was posted with MS Word!) A lot of my new stuff has been written for producers or directors specifically, but I do have some new stuff that doesn't have a home yet that I'll be sending in too.

Oh wow, just read it and totally loving this. I think you have to have it as a feature or something, not to waste the brilliant idea. It's not only the idea of course, it's the way its written too. Kept me glued to the screen.

Thank you, Mark and Khamanna!! Very nice of you. Good to see both of you here too. 8)

I reread this script last night and I guess I'm not as thrilled with it as some of the readers, lol. Always been my own biggest critic, I guess. Going to try to finish that Sea Monkey script and then there are a handful of scripts that need rewrites. Feels good to be writing again. It's people like you that make it so.  :)
