Nope. Mind you I've nothing new posted in a while. The only thing I see about this new model is specific pricing attached to scripts (I found that personally off-putting), and they provide a poster, and give a guide (according to them) of what price Specs go for.

And, I note it's "free for a limited time".
Which means once through Beta testing it won't be.

Will be interesting to see if this is fly by night, how much actually sells this way, how many people sign up, and what fees will be charged.

I remain sceptical.
SS & SR and Scriptshadow are free.

It's a great script but I very much doubt these people have actually read it. They would have sent out thousands of these emails trying to build their subscriber base.

It's not like they would send out emails saying your script is a piece of shit please give us your money.

This is nothing more than a template...

It's just another thing to get money out of hopeful writers. I say stick to SS.

I never ever believe emails where someone tells me I'm great!  :D I was just curious because it seems to me that there are more and more websites offering to host scripts for a price. I guess subscription based services are the way they all seem to go. Except for SS!!!  I already pay $5/month at Script Revolution and some pay even more than that. I pay nothing here and it's still the best place to get your script picked up IMO.

;D

What gets me about this is that there's no About Me (Us) page, unless someone else found it?

The creator of the site says they are a Screenwriter, understand the difficulties re selling scripts etc. I know it's a Beta site at the moment but a better selling Blurb of themselves might sell me on this more.

Also, the free now, pay later bit is a bit off-putting. I assume later their posters might incur a charge and maybe a sign up fee.

Have spotted quite a few SS members on there now, courtesy of a little birdie who told me. :)

I haven't had time to check them out yet, but I'm seeing a trend towards "pay to host your script" type sites. Inktip has been doing it for a long time and they are getting expensive, IMO. It seems now you have to subscribe just to get access to their script request links. I feel all these sites are doing is offering to host your script so filmmakers can find your amazing script. BUT, we already have that here.  :)

And with the nicest host in the Biz.

Adding WooCommerce to WordPress is free, and would allow us to sell a screenplay through Stripe, Square, PayPal, Bitcoin, or even Invoice. PDF Delivery is as simple as a download after purchase. Can add various agreement boxes and even signature fields.

However, the problem we face isn't payment processing or lack of listings, it's finding capable buyers. Like every industry!

Oooops - Got the email this morning (same one that Pia got other than the name of the script).

I checked the site out.

Very basic. Just scripts with a for sale price along with a rudimentary poster, logline and synopis.

Can't download any script without paying for it so not sure what the point is - no one is going to pay for a script without reading it.

Free for now - but you know how that works.

Pass.........

Had an almost identical email a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sure it was a different site/service... I'd check but I hit delete before I finished reading it ;-)

Mine starts...

Hello Paul,

Congratulations on writing a truly mediocre script. Although you lack visible talent, we'd still eventually wish to make money off of you.

it goes on from there pretty much the same as everyone else's.

I’ve got an idea. Hear me out. A short written about the caveats of these sketchy sites.

Logline:

“Lacking visible talent, a mediocre screenwriter is lured into the seedy underbelly of pay to play script sales sites.”

Hey, it could work  :D

Geez, we didn't get one. Feel so left out. ::)-A

Yeah, I got that email for my Middle Man Mick script. I can could see that it was a generic email and initially thought it was just scam - which is always dis-heartening as I get excited if I receive an email with the name of one my scripts on it :)

Looking into the site though, he does seem a genuine guy who just wants to help sell scripts.

Massive log shot, but what the hell, it's another place to advertise your work - think I'm gonna upload mine whilst its free. I recognise a couple of names from SS who have already done so and there's not many scripts on there at the moment like some of the other sites.

I'm not busting on this person specifically. I just get frustrated with the industry as a whole. There are a LOT of people trying to make money off of screenwriters. Most are well-intentioned, I'm sure. But, there are just SOOOOO many ways to spend your money for tips, notes, exposure, coaching, etc.

That's what makes SimplyScripts so powerful. It's free. You can learn if you're willing. Directors/Producers see what's going on here.

Anyway, don't know anything about this new site. Let's hope it turns out to be a good one.
