I don't know if anybody else here would be into it but it would be nice if this site had a forum for us short story writers. A place where we could post and critique each other's work.

Anybody else interested in this?

I love writing screenplays and whenever my screenplay gets up I'd hope for some feedback. I submitted it three weeks ago, but am a patient man and know things take time.

Maybe if we show enought interest it could happen. . .

Yep, short prose is another way of putting it.  

This has been discussed before and the answer always seems to be that this site is for screenplays. There are plenty of other sites for prose.

Seems like that's how it's usually explained.

I would argue short prose is a bit closer to our craft than music, but what do I know...

We are writers, aren't we? We discuss poetry? But not Short prose?

If anyone happens to stumble across the writer's board on IMDB, DO NOT post any of your work there.

They have a small blurb in their terms of service stating that anything posted on their boards becomes their property.

I highly doubt that they're grabbing stuff and trying to sell it, but you can never be too safe.

AbsoluteWrite has a section for prose I believe.

That's too bad. Thanx for the heads up though. It's a shame though, the format for this site is real nice. The caliber of writing is higher than what I've seen on most sites too.

Seems to be the way of writing in America now too, not much room left for the novelist. If it isn't a form of visual media then most don't have the imagination left to grasp it.

However, I will write always with the hope that people will eventually remember some things can't be expressed visually or spoken out loud - they are frail little whispers that break outside the mind.

I'd say we have enough boards that were to be used and never were. Even this board which is the wrong place for this thread (Questions and comments) is a useless board now.

Henrik does sign in but where are the updates? What is the point of this anymore?

Same with books and Collaborative effort. They're used very rarely.

I'd still say give it a try and let it die on its own accord instead of killing it before it's born. That's just me though. I don't run the site or know anything about running a website. I'm happy we have such a great place for scripts, just trying to help improve it.
