Having been a member of this site for over a year now(I think), I feel I am an SS regular. However, i don't want to be considered the guy who pumps out script after crappy script. Which is why I have decided to take a breather from writing for a while. This should give me more time to read more scripts and mature as a writer. Someone here once told me(I think bert)"Quality over quanity". At the time, I ignored it. Now I see that I should have listened. Any new screen writers, please learn from my mistakes. You don't have to pump out a dozen scripts a year to be liked here on this site. Instead, take your time. Write ONE good script. Members here will thank you for it. I don't know how long I plan on sitting back, but rest assured that when I start writing again you will only see quality work from me. I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me here(Phil, Mike, Bert, Pia, Helio, and of course Don), just to name a few. Thanks for reading.
~Zack~
P.S.
There have been a few times where I have posted reviews to scripts that I haven't even read in hopes of getting return reads. I apoligize for this. It'll never happen again. |

I mostly did that to new guys Chris. I think you're safe. If not, I'm seriously sorry. What script was it?

Even though it's good of you to confess, I have to say that I am disappointed... |

I'd like to say that the "empty reviews" I gave were when I was still fairly new. I know that doesn't make it any better, but I just want it to be known.

No worries, bro. Yeah. If you're feeling flat, it's best to take a break and come back with a fresh perspective. The path to our goals isn't always a straight line. |

Zack, you already got my message, but I just want to put it out here on the forum that it's really big of you to admit to a wrong. Many people go through their whole lives being pretentious, putting on the grandest of airs, needing to prove they're right.
We're all struggling in numerous areas and none of us starts out or will finish perfect.
The important thing is that we trudge through and write lots of junk just as a musician plays lots of yucky music until they develop the skill to play with a keen agility.
Maybe you were at a low point when you did what you did. Who knows. Thank you for owning up to it. And realizing that you're involved (as we all are) in a process of growth: That shows a lot of maturity!

You got balls Zack, well I hope you have or thats very insensitive of me, to come out and own up to your early days false reviews. I hope people don't hold it against you cos you've certainly read your fair share of scripts here now. Anywho good things come to those who wait, so just wait for that idea to jump into your head and then get back in that chair. |

First of all I just wanna say, that what you did is not cool. I mean, really. You probably know that which is why you're apologizing now.
Admitting you did something wrong is a fine first step, but it doesn't rectify it. I think you need to think of a way to earn back people's trust. You need to do charity. You need to do a lot of reads without expecting anything in return, you know?
'Cause I bet a lot of people are going through your reviews now and wondering if they were one of those cheated.
I mean that sincerely and think it's gonna help you get reads in the future. |

There are plenty of people who already knew at the time.
It is not a difficult thing to spot. |

I suppose I'm just gullible like that. I assume people have read what they're reviewing. |

There've been a couple of people who have done this (some still do, I'm sure). Parrotting other people's reviews is pretty easy to catch. Very often, they've just one or two line attaboy compliments. Phil |
