Not that I expect you guys and gals to know this, but today is Goonies Day, as the kids had their adventure on October 26th and to commemorate it, I made my own video. I of course am bopping along to Cyndi Lauper's Goonies song!!!

So, if you are in need of a laugh, click on this -

Happy Goonies Day! The Goonies had their adventure on October 26th, so here is my celebration...

One of my most stupidest and happiest moments EVER! HAHA!

Haha Andy! You are a Goonie fan for sure.

Believe it or not, but I actually read about this coming up a while ago in the Swedish news.

Not you doing this video, but the Goonies Day!

Out of interest, Andy. How many times a year would watch The Goonies movie from beginning to end?

That is a very good question, actually. Surprisingly, I watch it once, maybe twice a year. I can't over watch it the older I get - plus I've been to all the movie locations 4 years in a row, so the memories of all of those trips, the movie and my friends are fresh in my mind. Also, I moderate http://www.thegoonies.org and I guess I'm always thinking about the movie to a degree, whilst talking about it with fellow fans and having meet-ups with them etc, that I don't need to watch it to still enjoy it. Does that make sense??!!!

Not many people actually ask me that question - they assume I watch it religiously!!!!

PS - I enjoy watching it the most with fellow fans and if I'm really depressed, I might put it on and fall asleep to it. But, I have the CD which does the trick too.

No. I'm not surprised that you don't watch it all the time.

I can relate to loving a movie without needing to watch it anymore. I'm a huge fan of Fight Club, but it'll probably be a long time before I'll need to watch it again.

However, I think Class of 84 would be the movie I’ve watched the most. My friends and I used to watch scenes from it a couple of times a week and watch it in its entirety on a regular basis too. I haven't watched it for years, but if I put it on I could recite every line as the actors were saying them. Shakespeare it ain’t, but neither is Dostoyevsky.

I can totally relate to you on this!!! I'm glad you understand where I'm coming from. I love reciting the lines, but also I hate that I can't sit in silence anymore watching it too, lmao!!!!!!

Hahaha, Cindy - you know, this only compounds the fact that I am a bit weird..... lol!!! Hope it made you smile...lol!!!!

How's everthing going for you both then?

Everything is okay. It's that time of year when everything starts to wind down and I can relax . I'm looking forward to Xmas and to taking three weeks off work in January.
January also seems to be the best time of year for movies here in Melbourne. So I'm really looking forward to that too.

On the writing front, I wrote three shorts this year and I'm setting myself to write a feature length script. Hopefully it’ll turn out okay, but the main thing is that I do it, because it’s on my list of things to do before I die.

Andy,

You are weird and you are crazy and that makes you totally awesome.

That was a very cool and funny music video.  I really needed that.  Had a tough few days.  A really tough few days.

There's a Goonies day? Why wasn't I informed?

I make it a habit of setting most of my feature scripts in Oregon as an homage to Goonies and Stand by Me. Two movies that made a huge impression on my childhood.

I'm actually naming a character Andie Carmichael in an upcoming monster movie I'm writing too. Slightly altered spelling.

So here's a late happy goonies day.

@ Rob- LOVELY to see you here hon - hee hee, glad you liked the video ... check your inbox xxxx

@ DM - Awe, you GOONIE! Yeah, Goonies Day according to the book by James Kahn is in fact October 26th - and funnily enough, it was also the same weekend Marty McFly had his adventure in Back to the Future - Steven Spielberg... he tied the two movies together over the same weekend, love it! Even though the release dates were roughly the same too, BTTF totally blew the Goonies off the top spot!

I love Oregon too! It's so beautiful and serene - a spiritual place for sure. I love the weather and waterfronts there. I LOVE that you're naming your character after Andy too... too cool. Did you have a crush on her like all the other boys? Or do you like mean gals like Mama F?!!!

Happy Goonies Day/weekend to you too hon.

Andy and I were close, yeah! She had me at "Don't I have a beautiful body?" Even though I know Kerri Green hated that line with a vengeance.

btw I was born on October 21st 1985 so the Goonies went on their adventure when I was 5 days old? Awesome!

Though I've never actually been to Oregon I plan on going some day.

I had no idea that the 26th was Goonies Day, dedicated to a movie a barely remember seeing in the 80's, regardless, here's a Truffle Shuffle in honor of the event.

YAY!!! Truffle Shuffle!!!! Come on ... DO IT!!!

For those who loved the Goonies and Neverending Story, here's a video of Kids Incorporated (remember them from the 80's?!!) singing both theme tunes. It's awesome and a trip down memory lane!!

Andy with  ponytails and lip-synching Cindy Lauper with a giant fish in her lap.  It shouldn't be arousing, but it is.

Strangely arousing.
