May be out of your price range but the Macbook Pro has great audio and video and editing software pre-installed.

I have a PC that is like a gamers dream and an editors wet dream and yet the macbook still outperforms it in every way with less power too. Except for gaming of course but it is better in every way.

I too have a Mac Book Pro, but find it is far too big to be truly portable, plus the battery life has gone shit. It is not even 2 yrs old yet and I cannot even get 30mins from it anymore.

I would blame the battery; not the Mac.

Although I haven't worked a Mac personally, I believe they are better. The trouble is, (and it's not the trouble with Mac) is that a lot of stuff out there is set up for PC first; so you have to figure out how to work it.

I don't agree that everything is set-up PC first. A few years ago I would agree but as far as programs go every one I have needed has a MAC equivalent.

I love my Windows based machines and really dislike the touch pad on laptops and I would suggest a MAC over Windows any day.

Windows Laptops with Vista in my experience do not perform all that well. I run off numerous backups of space because I cannot trust Windows not to have a problem.

The only problem I ever had with a MAC was when I forgot my password.
