The one thing America loved about Tony was his willingness to stand toe and toe with the USA. Misinformation or not, America really dug the fact the Brits showed balls when every other nation cowered.
As to him hacking his way up the cyber food chain does give pause to this persons abilities and whether others were involved.
Giving him a job is truely SOP as hackers go. I give the guy a thumbs up for being able to do it. A thumbs down for poking the bear. Cyber crimes are fast becoming a very sore spot with many international communities.
BTW- the windows fire wall joke was fucking funny bro.
Man I have to tell ya, I really thought you guys liked Tony Blair. WOW, over here some of us really admired the UK, for there stand with Tony at the forefront.
I did like Blair, I voted for him. He promised us that his government and future labour govts would be 'whiter than white'. I think that lasted about two weeks.
First day in the job he abolished student grants. Going to war was the last straw. I vote Monster Raving Looney now. At least they're honest.
McKinnon story was just on the news. Chrissy Hynde has recorded a song of support! Sting's wife has spoken out! I can almost hear the US Judicial system quake with fear.
As to your second point. There is no point. What if he did it from the moon.
As to us having each others back, I think we do. At least under the last administration we did. Tony Blair ruled. We loved him over here. If the policy we currently have does not suit you, change it.
Shawn....><
That's silly. There's no oxygen on the moon. If he did it from there he'd be dead and this discussion would be quite unneccessary.
Your Sting is our Sean Penn. Crying tree huggers who rather give a terrorist a warm hug than to bring them to justice.
Chrissy Hynde .....From THE PRETENDERS? That makes sense in a way. She did write about crap like "corrigated tin shacks filled up with kids" She was hot in her day thiugh
As to you seamus, my dear seamus....
In order to hack from the moon, everone knows you would first have to hack the space mudule command unit left behind from when we were there.
I can hear it now....Britian... we have a problem...
There's a big difference between and Sting and Sean Penn - Penn still does some good stuff. And he's not involved in tantric wanking. Well, I hope not.
Indeed that Chrissie Hynde. What is "thiugh", a combination of 'thighs' and gussets? Or was that just another dream of mine?
Back on topic, there's a bit of bandwagon rolling now for McKinnon. He's been on the UK news all day now. With any luck all these legal types could go back to looking for terrorists soon. I do hope somebody is filling in meanwhile.
The problem is there aren't enough real terrorists out there. We've ginned up this gigantic War on Terrorism, and now we have to fiund enough terrorists to justify.
And that doesn't mean that I don't think that there are real terrorists out there, or that we shouldn't be going after them.
No, tantic wanking is something else. Not that I practice it, well, not tantric anyway.
Me Led? Know already? That would mean I'm also a sarky cock. Shurely shome mishtake, yur owner.
Quoted from Led
is it true, you only have three channels in England? All owned by the BBC?
I wish. I just got Sky, against my judgement. I never knew 300 channels with so much sheite for so much. The adverts come on and I could knock out a tantric before the programme restarts. By then I forgot what I was watching. That Sky plus bit is a treat though, if I could find the remote.
Not me in the avatar. I'm pretty, but not that pretty. only on the inside y'know?
As for the terrorism charge business and all that I think Seamus 90210 has it right.
Quoted from Seamus

You just can't make this $hit up. Here we are speaking of terrorist cell and along come the news.....
LONDON – Queen Elizabeth II has switched bearskin hats for turbans outside Buckingham Palace, where Sikh soldiers have begun guarding the monarch and her treasures, Britain's defense ministry said Friday/
Asperger's isn't a mental illness. It's a neurological disorder. Or as Aspies like to say a neurological difference.
That sounds about right.
Quoted from BBC
But he did admit that he hacked into dozens of US government computer systems. In fact, he calmly detailed just how easy it was to access extremely sensitive information in those systems.
"I found out that the US military use Windows," said Mr McKinnon in that BBC interview. "And having realised this, I assumed it would probably be an easy hack if they hadn't secured it properly."
Using commercially available software, Mr McKinnon probed dozens of US military and government networks. He found many machines without adequate password or firewall protection. So, he simply hacked into them.
Worrying stuff. I'd have assumed US military, the same people who formed one of the earliest internet systems, would have some decent software systems. The US military use Windows. North Korea & Iran must be shitting themselves.
