I’ve been working really hard on a short film I had hoped to enter but it’s been riddled with technical problems and I’ve had to completely retool it. I don’t know if I can finish before the deadline. I doubt it will get in but I’m trying.
I’ve learned a lot though so it’s been worth it. I’m mostly experimenting, trying to learn. I’m pretty good at the artistic side of things but stink at the technical stuff. I’m learning though. Maybe someday I’ll be good enough to make a feature. I’ve written a very basic treatment to a low budget thriller/horror film that’s got a killer twist at the end. I’m planning to see it made even if I have to make it myself.
I’m really surprised I don’t hear more about film festivals around here. I’d like to go to Sundance 2010. Anyone else entering a film or going?
Yeah, my partners and I have actually talked about going to Sundance -10. Not to show a film, but to network and party. My partner swears the best deals are made on the slopes. I rather make deals in a hot tub, but hey... ooops, strayed of topic again.
Let me know if you go. Would be awesome to meet you!
If I ever get it done, I’ll put it up on Youtube or something. It doesn’t look good at this point though. It may be beyond salvaging. I’ve had a lot of problems, too many to recount. I’m obsessed with it though and can’t stop.
I want to go to Sundance even if I don’t have a film in it, also to network. I’m thinking about driving there. I’ll let you know when I know something more definite. It would be great if we both went. I would love to meet you in person!
I prefer the hot tub to the ski slope too. I’ve got ski slopes here I never use. Maybe that’s our problem. We’re hot tub people in a ski slope world.
