We all know the greats that have lived and died, but what and who is your favorite actors/actress, movie and director in the 2010's. Am I saying that right?
Mine are:
Tom Hardy. I believe his performance in Legend was overlooked for an Oscsr because of the average story/script. I rate his performance as Ronald Kray as one of the best since Heath Ledger's Joker.
Fury by David Ayer. I'm not a big Ayer fan, but he knocked it out the ballpark with Fury imo. I don't remember seeing a movie in the past decade that made me as satisfied as what Fury did. Wolf of Wall Street comes close.
Aaaaand Alejandro González Iñárritu. (Yes, I did copy and paste his name.) Thanks to him, we got to witness one of the greatest scenes in the history of cinema. The bear attack in The Revenant. His long takes and camera direction make for some of the best cinema viewing ever. Alfred who? Nah just kidding. I love Hitchcock.
I don't pay any attention to who's who and who's doing what. A film is either good or it isn't. It takes a whole team to make it one or the other. The film that stands out the most to me at the moment is Bone Tomahawk. I can't point to any individual that made it what it is though.
I forgot what the question was. But I'd say Charlize Theron in Young Adult and Joaquin Phoenix in The Master are still the best performances of the 2010's.
My opinion on films is quite unpopular I believe, so I didn't post at first.
No 1: Snowpiercer (Korean movie)– complete package, director Bong, exceptional performance of the lead Chris Evans, plot no words...
Runner up:
Shutter Island – again complete package- Scorsese, Di Caprio, plot
A movie from my country has good chances to win the Academy Award next year for best foreign film. Crazy movie called Toni Erdmann (female director and female lead). Don't watch it ever if you don't like different, other or new. It's crazy.
Best male actor of our times – Cage (not because of his popular films) More because of "Bringing out the Dead" for example. Genius performance imo
But Brandon, why should I let the crowd rip my unpopular opinion to pieces
That is his masterpiece. Fifty years from now, his Oscar performance in Leaving Las Vegas will be all but forgotten. Yet The Wicker Man will live on in infamy, sharp as a bee sting to the face.
Him in Savages is mint. I'm yet to see Sicario. Heard nothing but good things about it. I even have it recorded on my tv, and still havent watched it, haha.

All the best, man
I googled Snowpiercer and actully looks quite good. Rotten Tomatos rated the fuck out of it, so it must be good, right?
And yes, Shutter Island is tops. Anything directed by Scorcese, starring DiCaprio is worth a watch.
