It's offical, Lions Gate Films is pushing forward with a Punisher TV series. Punisher and Blade are both making the jump to television.
Anythoughts?

I dunno if anybody here watched it, but it appears 'The Inside' has been cancelled. This show seemed to be improving week on week so this news is quite disappointing. It was certainly never big in the originality stakes but it was watchable enough, had decent talent behind it and had lots of scope for development. |

The Inside??? never heard of it, then again, all I watch is G4TV, Comedy Central, and Cartoon Network. |

I believe this is the same for a lot of people, probably part of the reason it's dead in the water now... Seriously though... What is it with American networks cancelling really good shows, often before they have a chance to find their feet? I happens way too often, quite often resulting in egg on face for them - the resurgence of Family Guy and the Firefly movie springing to mind. |

That would be great news Impulse, James needs to act more and stop trying to be a musician. This Blade series sounds like exactly what I said in movie reviews about how they f**ked Wesley and now a new guy as Blade? Bull, I would never watch it just for the simple fact these suits resulted to underhanded childish antics to get rid of Wesley and make room for the oh so exciting Nightstalkers. That'll be a good film. |

I'm probably the only person on this entire discussion board who gives the soap opera PASSIONS any credit, but here goes ...
This Tuesday they're beginning a storyline that pays homage to disaster movies. The show takes place in a small sea-side New England town of Harmony, and on Tuesday's episode, the town will get hit with an earthquake. The week after that, they get hit with a Tsunami and a central character dies.
The story includes enough characters that they film a new 35 minute (plus 25 minutes of commercials to fill the hour) episode per day, but they film them more than a month in advance, so they actually edited the best parts of this upcoming storyline into a movie called "PASSIONS: DISASTER" which premiered in a cinema at Universal Studios on July 12th. That movie was a highly condensed -- but still two hours long -- version of the upcoming storyline that begins on Tuesday's episode. And after the storyline airs fully on TV, they're considering releasing the movie edit of it onto DVD. I like that show enough to buy it.
Anyone else give even the slightest of a damn? |

Nope. Soap Operas in my opinion are made for women, every female I know watches them and 1 male who I will not name. I did enjoy 1 storyline on Days of our Lives when they went on that cruise to the island, that was a great summer of watching that show ha-ha
I've only ever watched Passions for maybe 5 minutes, these shows are just not made for me. They stop becoming relatable with these far fetched boring storylines, characters talking to themselves to tell us the story so far and a whole bunch of things that maybe some people like but I feel like having to talk to yourself is almost as bad as someone telling us everything in a script or worse.
Maybe when I get older I'll get into them more but at this point in time they are just so lame, maybe it's just Days of our Lives, and the 2 others I've been watching. |

I like the farfetched stories. I love that the earthquake and tsunami are caused by the witch Tabatha. And they don't talk to themselves as much lately.
Certain female demographics are home more than men during that time-slot, so certain elements in the stories are geared towards women, but the head writer of both PASSIONS and DAYS OF OUR LIVES is a guy named James E. Reilley. He's a very talented, insanely prolific writer, who is a great role model for any writer, male or female.
A couple of weeks ago, PASSIONS had a high speed chase on boats. The chase was filmed outdoors, and it had some good twists and turns and ended with an explosion. Every couple of weeks they have another good chase, or a pretty good fight. And a guy can't watch that stuff without at least a little surge of testosterone, so don't bash what you don't watch. |

I didn't bash it, I said the ones I watch and I also said Passions wasn't one of them. But also like I said I won't care much for them until I get older, life is more important right now than day soap operas. |

He was spending time with his band but as you can see that didn't go anywhere. I guess it's right about TV actors being type cast and well instead of him being something he's basically Spike.
I think given the chance James could be a major star and walk home with an Oscar someday but from the looks of his IMDB page he's not getting anything.

I used to watch that show every day I wasn't in school. Recently, I have only watched a little bit of it but I like it. Timing's a bit off, I usually wake up right when it airs I heard that Luis will be written out of the show. Maybe that's the guy who'll be taken out. |

I'm glad to hear this. Spike was probably the best character on the show (maube second to Drusilla). I'm surprised that he doesn't get more work.

That makes sense. If Luis dies, Tabatha's curse on him and Sheridan can go on for another generation, thus giving the story a much needed extention. With all the great payoffs lately, it's felt like the show's been drawing to a close, and although that flavor makes for fun television, it's also dangerous territory for a soap opera, because soaps are supposed to last forever. MY PREDICTIONS: Theresa will develop real feelings for Alastair, but Alastair will hook-up with Edna, and Beth will be given the Crane Empire. Sheridan and Beth will both come into vampiric powers at the same time, and they'll question Alastair about it. He'll explain that vampire powers run in the crane blood, but he's been restraining and hiding everyone's powers, even from themselves, with some kind of an orb. Sheridan and Beth will join with Alastair as vampires to rule the world. Gwen won't understand why her friend Sheridan is now a cold-hearted bitch. Ethan -- and the Bennetts and Russels -- will fight the Cranes, but Tabatha will join with Alastair to repress everyone. Charity and Grace will return -- with their full powers -- and crumble the Crane empire. The end. |

I hear that Six Feet Under is stopping at series 5!?! I've only seen series one so far (So please nobody ruin it for me with spoilers) as I can't afford to buy the other boxsets yet, but that show is quality! I can't believe it!
On the topic of soap operas, I was soooooo so sad when 'Sunset Beach' was pulled by Spelling and whichever network showed it. I loved that show!! Dammit, no other man alive has dimples as gorgeous as Eddie Cibrian does. You can't beat the fake looking sets and cheesy one liners and outrageously stupid storylines, they're great!!! I say bring that show back!!!
Haven't seen Day of Our Lives, but have caught some others while holidaying in Cyprus during my siesta break! LOL! Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful etc.. |

Well that's not official, that's Charlie Murphy trying to get in the news and make himself famous or more so. Until Dave or Comedy central say it's over... It's not over.
In that article Comedy Central said the door is always open for Dave to return and they do have half a season done so maybe he needed some personal time but someday he could be back. |

I would have liked to have seen SUNSET BEACH. I love corny. Plus, I just looked it up on IMDB and learned that it had some of the same directors as PASSIONS, which I love. Plus, James E. Reilly -- who created PASSIONS, and is the head writer of PASSIONS -- was the head-writer of SUNSET BEACH for a while in 1998. John Reilly, who played Del Douglas on SUNSET BEACH, currently plays Alastair Crane on PASSIONS. Leigh Taylor-Young, who played Elaine Stevens on Sunset Beach in 1997, currently plays Katherine Crane on Passions. Kathleen Noone, who played Bette Katzenkazrahi during the entire run of Sunset Beach, plays Edna Wallace in Passions. |

I haven't seen PASSIONS, Alan, but sounds like I would like it. It's a shame you can't watch 'Sunset Beach'. Perhaps it's re-runs will be on in the future? I wish we had PASSIONS here in the UK! I like that corny stuff too. It's so unrealistic and a complete break from the real world. Andy |

The real-life tragedy of Hurricane Katrina is even having reverberations in the cartoon world of Family Guy. Fox has decided to swap the episode originally scheduled to open the series' new season tonight, which featured hurricane references, for one featuring guest voice James Woods (Nixon, Salvador). "Out of sensitivity to what happened, we're moving back [the original premiere episode] a couple weeks," a Fox rep tells Broadcasting & Cable.

For some reason it doesn't look terrible but Blade himself looks a little bit like a copy-cat in every way. The show kind of looks half campy and half 24 with vampires.
Hopefully it doesn't suck. |

Theirs always something better but not all of them have enough of a following like Blade does. I'm not a huge fan myself but my reasons are more plot wise making vampires lame.
Did Buffy steal Blade 2's Super vampires or did Blade 2 steal that from Buffy? |

I've seen just about every episode, some twice... I loved the show but it had one of the worst endings a show can have plus they killed the only character I liked (Spike) in the last episode.
But he shows up on Angel in Season 5 so it's all good. |

I have been tracking this series for a number of months now, and Because I live in the uk I cannot watch it.
I was just wondering what people think about it, and how good of a role Kirk "sticky fingaz" Jones was playing. How good he was portraying the Blade character. I have read some revies, rather mixed I would like to add, but what do you guys think of it. |

Bloodprince, your thread was merged into this one, since people have already been talking about it here.

The show hasn’t started here in the states yet( starts June 28 ). Kirk Jones was great in The Shield and Over There, but he was a minor character. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he can pull off a lead. -Zavier |
