Pardon me for starting so many threads. But I seen somewhere on here about Natalie Portman being in a new movie V for Vendetta. I just looked at the site for it, and it sounds awesome. Does anyone have more information on V for Vendetta? And I want to see Hugo Weaving play a character like V as in the bio for 'V' |

From the imdb.com: "In a story where Germany won a future World War and Great Britain is now a fascist state, a masked vigilante known only as "V" conducts guerrilla warfare against the government. When he rescues a normal young woman (Portman), she joins his struggle against the forces of oppression..."
It's based on a comic book mini series by Alan Moore.

This should probably be in the Movie Rumour thread where Dick started a thread for this very film where he posted the website and stuff. |

Even more interesting about "V" is not only was it scripted by the Brothers Wachowski, but they are also doing the second-unit stuff. Most directors do something truly marvelous after coming off of such a huge hit (in this case, the underrated "Matrix" trilogy). It is strange to see that their next project is doing second unit work. Either way, it is nice that this one is getting made. Unfortunately for myself, one of my favorite graphic novels, "The Watchmen," was mere weeks away from getting the celluloid treatment before a nervous studio (I believe it was Universal) pulled the plug. A real shame. |

The opening date for V for Vendetta might be delayed, given the recent events in London.

Did they even credit Hugo Weaving in the trailer? They've been hiding him pretty well so far....

I noticed that too Phil. I checked on the main website and also couldn't find any mention of Hugo Weaving. Strange, you would think that they would be parading him around.

It's funny how the movie's website has all that nonsense interview footage of everyone but Hugo, when he plays the title character. Don't they think he'd be a selling point after LoTR and Matrix?
I wonder if there was a problem with him? If they wanted people to not associate V with any celebrity, they could've chosen an unknown for the role.
