Some would argue that Mark Hamill needs the work. Also I just found out that Mark Hamill as actually already played the Joker. He lent his voice for The Joker in a Batman Video game entitled Batman: Vengeance

Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever. I WAS WRONG.
I truly, definatly, positively, think that Adrien Brody should be the joker. He can be a wide variety of characters (The retard in The Village, and more serious in the pianist) not to include that right now he is pretty big with King Kong or something like that.
He would be a perfect joker in my eyes. Mark Hamill shouldn't act anymore. Jack is too old now you guys. After seeing the movie "As Good As It Gets" I'm guessing that he should be done.
Oh yeah, I watched that with my wife. Not for my own pleasure.
But Hamill's Joker voice is cartoon and in a film that may not transfer very well.
They need a tall skinny guy and just add a big chin prosthetic like DJ Qualls, that guy has the perfect odd shaped head to mold... maybe not his voice but they can change that.
When the first Batman movie was being made, David Bowie and Tim Curry were both on the list to play Joker. They're both still good choices.

Now, if they don't pick Jackie boy, then they must go with Tim Curry. He was brilliant in 'IT', perfect in 'Clue' and has one of the most entertaining and wide ranging voices going in the acting industry.
I am sure I've left off other great movies he's been involved in, but you're right, he'd be a fantabulous choice...
Tim Curry is very hit or miss. While he was good in the movies you mentioned, Andy, he also made a couple of stinkers. I saw in play Scrooge in 'A Christmas Carol' at Madison Square Garden and was very disappointed in him.
I saw him in a Scary Movie film once, which wasn't great, I admit, but haven't otherwise seen him in anything else where I didn't like his performance. I think Congo was a bit rubbish, but then always find Tim himself to still be good. I loved him in his guest appearance on Will and Grace in the season finale. So very typically Tim.
That's a shame he wasn't up to scratch in that play. I too would have been deeply disappointed. I also would have been completely in awe of him though as he's one of my favourite celebrity crushes!
I will check his IMDB profile to see if he has any new films in the pipeline.
As for David Bowie, wow, must have been Labyrinth which brought him to the lime light for consideration.
