"28 days later..." is one of my favorite films of all time. With that said, the idea for the sequel sounds truly awful. It sounds very much like the crappy, action-oriented "Resident Evil" movie (it supposedly involves a small group of American commandos infiltrating the original primate lab in London) and less like the low-budget, horror-oriented original. Not to mention the non-involvement of original screenwriter Alex Garland or director Danny Boyle.
This has bad idea written all over it. |

I liked 28 Days later and I hope this one does just as well. Is this one being released into theaters or straight to DVD?

It hits theaters on May 11, 2007. The film will be released under the new Fox Atomic banner. -Zavier |

According the Variety, the lead role for the Fox Atomic sequel 28 Weeks Later, has gone to Jeremy Renner. He will play Sgt. Doyle, one of the heroes of the sequel which "picks up six months after the end of the first film, in which a virus spreads, leaving few survivors. Special Forces is working to restore order and helping repopulate London when a carrier of the virus unknowingly ignites a reinfection."

The Fox Atomic site has posted some raw footage from the sequel, check it out here. This small chunk of footage alone makes the recent Day of the Dead trailer look ridiculous. -Zavier |

I loved 28 Days Later. This one looks like it might be pretty cool too. I hope they don't fuck it up. |

28 Days Later for me was a tale of two films...the first half and the second half. the first half i thought was brilliant... in the vein of a little known movie called "The Quiet Earth"
The second half however lost me.. the whole thing with the women and stuff just totally turned me off... i hated it, for as much as i love the first half... the second half left me angry, and frustrated.

28 Days Later was an alright movie... still, not a great film. I think 28 Weeks Later's just gonna be a money-making piece of crap. I mean the storyline sounds trash. American commandos or something? Why?! Big budget, is it? Probably. I can see it being more of an entertaining movie than 28 Days Later but with the same frustration and maybe more stupidity.
Hopefully not though. |

That's a pretty cool poster.
I liked 28 Days Later, but I'm hesitant about zombie movie sequels.
However, we'll see how it goes.
Cheers, Chismeister. |

That's one of the best posters I've seen in a long time. It's got a sort of 80's cold war feel to it. |
