The only person I'd care to see in the movie, Sly aside, is Dolph and they haven't said nothing about him... That's ashame.

Dolph is the biz baby!

Make a boxing film about a boxer who actually has a story to tell, Rocky had 5 movies to tell his story, did they forget something?

I think his son should be the fighter now and Stallone should die as his manager did to pass the torch to his son but I doubt the actor would allow that to happen.

I already know the ending... Rocky wins in a dramatic fight where he takes a lot of punishment. Wow that was a spoiler, almost like I could get into the writers heads.

That would actually make a decent story and a satisfying ending to the series but chances are your right and they will stick with the same over-used formula.

I'm really looking forward to this film. All of the other films were released before I was born, so it'll be great to actually see a Rocky flick in the theater! It'll probably be mediocre, but I'll go and see it anyway just for the experience!

From what I've seen and read about it, I think it's gonna be amazing. I've always respected Sly's writing. He's a great writer and Raging Bull and The Champ aside, Rocky is the best boxing series ever!

There is a lot of emotions in those movies. Yeah, they can get a little ASS SMACK cheeseballish at times, but overall... Great movies.

I've read a bits and pieces of the excerpts from the movie's final screenplay.

(DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT)

It has his son working in downtown Philly, at some big corporation. Adrian is dead at the start and Rocky owns a small restaurant in his old hood, where people come to get pictures taken with the champ.

Mason Dixon is the champ and he's basically beating no-name guys and this prompts Sly to question should he come back or not. He ask his son, who says he's too old and that he needs to start thinking differently. Sly isn't detoured, though. He starts to train and passes the boxing commish regulations, but they fail him anyways... This brings up another battle, I'm guessing. A moral and legal one... Finally he gets his shot... at the end, I'm guessing he does die, cause his son is in the locker room and is said to be crying.

That would be taken right out of the pages of "THE CHAMP" however... So we'll see.

I can't wait for it, myself.  Rambo 4 without Crenna, isn't gonna be Rambo 4... Rocky 6, however, will live up to the hype.

I love the original Rocky, though the sequels just don't live up to it in anyway. Rocky II tries a bit too hard to out-do the original and it works in some ways, but it doesn't have quite the same charm or emotion that the original had. Rocky 3 had some great ideas, but things like the charity fight against "Thunder Lips" was just about the exact point where the series shifted to having less character drama and more action. I felt it was a good movie, though. Rocky 4 is even more action oriented than 3 was. Sure, Drago should have pulverized Rocky, but that's what made it so damn exciting. Rocky 5 was just awful, in both action and drama. The premise is an interesting idea. What a way to end a series by taking our hero back to where he grew up. However, it was cheesy, poorly directed, poorly acted, and just not entertaining at all. I like the trailer for Rocky Balboa, though. I don't think it looks bad even if the idea of Sly in the ring again is absurd. I just hope it returns to its roots of the first movie in the way that Rocky 5 should have. I'm not counting Stallone out yet. I really hope he pulls out a good movie with this one. Mason "the line" Dixon is such a fantastic name, in a Rocky series kind of way, of course.

Am I the only one looking forward to this movie.  I think this might be pretty good, they have been playing the origianl Rocky on Encore a lot recently and I liked it a lot, and this one seems to have the same take. I have seen all of the Rocky's and the only one I didn't like was number 5, it was horrible, but it seems to be going back to it's roots.

Who CAN'T watch a new Rocky movie. I mean...it's Rocky. They could make ten Rocky's and I'd still watch 'em.

"Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd" - George Carlin
"I have to sign before you shoot me?" - Navin Johnson
"It'll take time to restore chaos" - George W. Bush
"Harry, I love you!" - Ben Affleck
"What are you looking at, sugar t*ts?" - The man without a face
"Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death." - Exodus 31:15
"No one ever expects The Spanish Inquisition!" - The Spanish Inquisition
"Matt Damon" - Matt Damon

Can anyone see the market stradegy here? Stallone has set it up perfectly, its a win win situation. Everybody has their doubts about this movie so their gonna see this movie with a kinda neutral mood. If they don't enjoy it, then they'll have just confirmed their first prediction, but if its good then they'll be stunned.

It's always good to go see a movie you know nothing about its quality because there never much of a let down. If this rocky is good then Stallone has also set up a good reputation for the new rambo.

I heard a rumour from somewhere that when Stallone started this project he was so excited to be back, but now that he's seen the finished product he wish he had left it alone. I can't remember where I heard it, or if I even heard it at all, I could be wrong.

I curious to see exactly how this pans out. Personally, I liked the first Rocky and I've never paid any attention to the sequels. I remember seeing Rocky III on late night TV one night and I thought it was pretty bad. But there are so many different ways to go with this, picking the series up twenty years later. We're lucky he did choose to play it out in real time instead of Stallone trying to play a thirty year old boxer in his sixties.

It could be a good movie, very dramatic and such, but it could also go horribly wrong. So we're just going to have to wait and see what happens. I think Stallone could've come up with a better title than Rocky Balboa though. Even Rocky VI I would have prefered, but who am I to complain?

Cheers, Chismeister.
