This is not a remake of the black and white killer ant film, but is instead the film version of one of my favorite books, "Them!  Adventures with Extremists" from British journalist/humorist Jon Ronson.  Edgar Wright (the co-writer/director of "Shaun of the Dead" and soon-to-be-director of "Antman") has been sought after by producers Mike White and Jack Black to direct the film.

Personally, I think Wright is the perfect candidate to take some of the serious topics of the book and giving them a humorous spin as Ronson himself did.  And as for White and Black, if they're producing, they might as well have Mike White play Ronson as they look incredibly alike.
