Hairspray which is based on the Tony-winning Broadway musical, which followed up the 1988 John Waters film is planned to hit theatres 2007. Hmm.. I personally think that broadway shows and plays should be kept broadway shows and plays it's just not the same turning them into movies! Chicago was way better in theatre as Rent probally will be too. This just shows Hollywood has no more ideas!

I liked the play. I liked Rent and hopefully this year and next we get a lot of film plays. They are good promotion and great being cheaper yet makes your want to see the play. I like it also when celebs dress up way different and cameoflauge almost it's quite interesting.

Except "Hairspray" is a film, based on a play, that's based on a film.

Maybe next year they'll make a film out of Spamalot, which is the play version of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".
