Hey Zavier, don't mean to impede on the job you are doing but Michelle Rodriguez has a new film coming out and I needed to put it somewhere.

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0850253/

The Battle in Seattle is the writing/directing debut of Stuart Townsend.  The basic plotline is a documentary style film depicting the events that occured in Seattle, Washington on November 30, 1999 during the World Trade Organization Summit meeting.  Anarchists and protesters set fires and caused riots in defense against the WTO exporting domestic jobs to foreign countries.  Townsend's actual pitch to the producers is the movie's synopsis over at IMDB.com so if you want to see what a professional script pitch looks like, you can check it out for youself.

The film already has Charlize Theron in the lead who plays a pregnant bystander that loses her baby because of the chaos.  Michelle Rodriguez, Andre Benjamin, Ray Liotta, Woody Harelson, Channing Tatum headline an ensamble cast for this film.  It only has a budget of $10 million though so its definately in indie territory.

I think this has a lot of potential to be a great film.  Keep your eyes out for it.

It's scheduled for a November 2008 release.

You're not impeding. Everyone is welcome to start new movie/television rumor threads.

Haha, wow I always thought Zavier had domain in this board.  This seems to be one of the most consistant and well run boards out of the group, so I thought he was only allowed to start threads.  Shows how much I know, haha.

Yeah I put a couple opinions in there, sorry about that.  I guess I got a little excited.  I took them out to keep this thread stable.

But I'll definatly keep this one updated with release dates, production notes, etc.  I'm really looking foward to this one.

By the way, here's another article that contains a little bit more info on the movie.

Looks like Susan Surandon may be joining the cast as well.

Got a couple more websites for the movie.  I have a feeling this is going to come out in theaters a lot sooner than 2008.  Unless Townsend is going to run through the film festivals first with it, I can't see this taking any longer than next fall to come out.

Anyway, here is the official site:

And here's one with set pics and stills.

Stuart Townsend is really using the internet to his advantage.  I think it's pretty cool.  It could drastically shine more light on the film in the early stages.

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that I have been casted as an extra for Battle in Seattle for the rioting scenes in Seattle.  I have to report to the set on December 9th and 10th for filming.

I hate when people put this stuff up but I'm just too damn excited!  I'll see if I can maybe take some pictures from the set and get some more info regarding the movie

Maybe I could ask Stuart Townsend to give me a credit.....

Charlize Theron...Illana
Michelle Rodriguez....Lou
Ray Liotta....Mayor
Guy Jackson ....Protester #1,032

Has a ring to it doesn't it?  I think it would look fine up on IMDB.com hahahahaha

Anyway, IMDB has a full cast list up now at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0850253/

This is going to be a big film with a lot of name actors.
