This was supposed to have been released in 2008 but was shelved for a year to "allow more time in post-production", which cynical old me assumed that meant that the film was shit. I was very dissapointed because I though the screenplay was one of the better ones I had read last year and based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men) It had all the signs of being a great film.
Well release date has been set and a trailer released, people who have seen the movie already are saying that the trailer is very misleading and the film is indeed faithful to the novel and is not really the action movie the trailer suggests it is. It still looks great though, early reviews are suggesting this is a very good movie, maybe the film of the year.

Looks good. I'm dying to see this one. One of my favorite videogames, Fallout 3, was loosely based on The Road. I was trying to get my hands on the novel but the movie will have to suffice for now.

Looks very good indeed; Viggo Mortensen rarely disappoints and from what I saw of the trailer, it looks very well directed.

I love end of the world, apocalyptic, survival films anyway, but only a few are done right. The Proposition is one of my favorite films, so with John Hillcoat directing I'm really looking forward to seeing this.
