The gravity part looks cool although the trailer overall is terrible. It gives no sense of the plot whatsoever and so far, it's only rumors online in regards to what it's actually about. Still, looks like a Christopher Nolan film and even his weakest (Insomnia) feels like a strong piece for another director. Solid cast too. Ellen Paige and Cillian Murphy should be especially good, as they always are. DiCaprio's never been bad either. I think Titanic just gave him a misleading image that he's never been able to overcome. |

It's a teaser; doing exactly what teasers should do. |

Somehow, I failed to notice the word "teaser." I saw this in theaters so I guess I never gave it a second thought. Still, teasers are lame and most of them will give you at least something to go on. My opinion anyway. |

I'd rather just see a teaser, than the trailer honestly. Trailers almost always ruin the film; and this is coming from someone who works in a trailer house. Heck, we recently cut a trailer that quite literally shows you how the film ends (at the request of the studio). That's bound to irritate some people. I almost wish I hadn't watched anything for "Inglorious Basterds" either, as that trailer ruined the film for me too. |

I can sorta understand that sentiment although I don't agree with it 100%. Since a lot of comedies and horror movies nowadays are rated R, there's still a lot to be desired from the trailers. Not always the case though. I think The Hangover trailer gave away a lot. The Inglourious Basterds trailer, I agree 100%. Really, they shouldn't have shown any snip-its from the fifth chapter at all. The so-called teaser was good though. Told you basically what the film was about and gave you a couple nice shots to wet your appetite. Not at all like this one for Inception. |

The problem with comedies is that studio executives all have their favorite jokes, and once they've picked them, they want to see them in everything: from TV spots to trailers. So by the time you get to the theater, you've seen the "good jokes". You're right about R-rated films though, to an extent. For some films, they have a tendency to take the really funny r-rated jokes and re-edit them to be clean. Yeah, it gives you an additional laugh when you see it the "dirty way" in the theater, but you still know it's coming. |

I have to agree with Dressel here, teasers are - imo - on a whole other level than actual trailers. I remember watching the teaser for Aliens back in the day and that one was really scary in a foreboding ominous way, whereas the real trailer was just, you know, standard.
Personally, I would rather watch teasers as well, and I think that this particular one is deffinitely one of the better teasers. |

Looks interesting, Nolan rocks. |
| Isle 10- A series I'm currently writing with my friend Adam and it will go into production soon. Think The Office meets 10 Items or Less.

as far as the teasers vs. trailers argument goes, id much rather see a trailer. but thats just me.
this film has all the makings for a great movie, but im still skeptical. the teaser really didnt evoke much emotion out of me, however i was interested. which i guess is the point of a teaser now that i think about it.
considering nolan can do any movie he wants to after doing the dark knight, im hoping this will be unique and intriguing. i guess time will tell gentlemen |

Nolan's one of the few to never me let me down. At present only Fincher's catalogue comes close.
Whatever he's made here you can bet it will be well thought out and deftly made.
However a decade from now I sincerely hope Blomkamp's name will be just as famous as theirs for all the right reasons.
I've Never seen a debut as promising and exciting as District 9, except maybe for Reservoir Dogs. And that was nearly twenty ago. |
