We finally have a trailer for "J. Edgar", Clint Eastwood's biopic about the founder of the FBI and long-rumored homosexual cross-dresser.

Looks like a damn fine movie, although I will say that young actors in elderly make-up always look a bit weird. Make-up and CGI have come along way since "Citizen Kane" but it still looks just as fake to me.

I can't live the buttoned-down life like you. I want it all. The dizzying highs, the terrifying lows, the creamy middles. Sure, I may offend some of the blue bloods with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called "city fathers," who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards and talk about what's to be done with this Homer Simpson?

I definitely want to see this, I never miss an Eastwood film.
But I'm a bit disappointed they're shying away from Hoover's sordid personal life.
Eastwood's said as much in recent interviews.
I imagine he;s already sick to death of being asked that question!

I think it's borderline criminal how most sites portrayed this story:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/06/fbi-hoover-not-gay_n_997860.html

They made it sound like the FBI went banging on Eastwood's door.
I'm pretty stoked to see how this film came out.
The screenwriter's quotes really piqued my curiosity.

Suggesting Hoover's personal life struggles are a metaphor for modern homosexuality.
It's a tightrope walk, but I could see it resonating with a wide audience.
In another cast/crew's hands, I"d be shaky, but it's Eastwood.
The big man is due for a milestone feature, I hope this is it.

Massive Clint Eastwood fan. IMO, best director alive.

The reviews are not too good at this moment in time. It is rotten on Rotten tomatoes and doesn't compare to the other scores Eastwood has gotten for his films on IMDB.

Still yet to see it but hopefully it is not disappointing.
