I'd love to read that post... but I'm not going to.
Anyway and how and why and when... Sophocles is great stuff, Movie Magic is good too and Final Draft is great just for the voice speach alone... When you hear classic lines such as "Butter Dick" "Pearl Snorkler" & "Poyina Head" read back to you, it's too good to pass up.
However, I often dream I'm the knife man in a circus when I go to sleep "like I'm going to in 3 minutes" and I often think of missing~
Good to see you K.K. or... oh I'm sorry... MISS K.K.
i've recently been converted to using Final Draft after years of just using Word..
my theory was that Word may take longer thanks to manually formatting things, but I like to think it forces you to edit your work more than you might do.
and then I sued FD for the first time.. and realised how many man-hours I'd lost over the years! I think I actually shed a little tear of joy..
I've been using Finald Draft for over a year now. The only problem I've had with it is that the 'upper caps' will stick for one character longer than you want to. People have told me it's because I'm typing too fast or I'm not letting go of the shift button fast enough. I've intentionially typed slowly to see if this is the case and it's not. It's the software.
If time is important to you -- It is a necessacity
If time isn't important to you and you have it to burn and kill -- It isn't a necessacity
I use Final Draft and Sophocles now and couldn't ever even want to write without them... I don't see how some of you all do it. I would've been a man with idea's in my head, rather than one with them in my head and on paper now.
