If you want a place to submit your script, this place has made it so easy to submit.  I've never entered a paid competition until I discovered this site. In twelves of writing, now I'm submitting.

Thought I'd mention this site in case others don't know.

Jay - what is it that you like about it other than it's free (at first) ? Have you already had positive experiences with it?

Check out Without A Box too, does same... they both make it easy to submit scripts Dave, because you save them as projects (or some such) in your account, making it much simpler to enter comps.

They both also have a massive database of comps that you can filter as needed.

They don't charge, I assume because they get a kickback from the comp entrance fees.

So basically like a contest portal?

Yep, primarily for film fests though, so not comps portal per se

I like FilmFreeway. It is convenient and is always updating with improvements.

It does make the whole thing kinda impersonal though,  as it makes it easy for festivals to communicate with you through them via automated updates. They don't have to have any direct contact. So they can completely ignore you for months and then you just get an update (from Filmfreeway) saying your submission has not been successful.

It also isn't good at spotting scam festivals/competitions and relies on people who have been scammed to report them.

99% of them are scams. Winning is worthless.
