Hi, My names Kevin and I am new to this board. I'm the typical amateur screenwriter that really doesn't know how to write scripts but would like to learn. I've recently submitted a script titled "Standards of Bovine". It's my first attempt at a script and am expecting a lot of criticism, and I also welcome it. I hope to become a better writer and with a little luck get something produced someday. I'm in college with surprisingly a lot of time on my hands. I hope to spend a lot of time expanded my skills as a writer as I am mostly ignorant of the business. Happy to be here!
The best way to learn is to read and write all the time. Take the criticism and learn the trade. I'm still on my learning curve and I'm sure I'll still be picking up hints and tips along the way for a while yet.
You'll learn a lot from these boards like I have. My first script was a howler.
Hey Kevin. Hope you like it here. I'm also very new into this writing stuff, but am giving it a try. My advice is that if you read others, yours will be read. Good luck.
Welcome to the boards! I joined these boards not long ago, and like you, I had no idea how to format a script or any of the basic rules. The best advise would be to read loads of scripts on these boards and produced scripts too. That has helped me greatly.
Thanks everyone. I really like the way the forums are set-up. I've already read a couple of scripts here and really enjoyed it. "Standards of Bovine" is now posted in the Drama section. Please read it and tell me what you think!
Sup Kevin, it's true we are all nice here on SS, and the criticism is never personal. I receive criticism, but I take it and learn from it, hope everything goes fine!
Isle 10- A series I'm currently writing with my friend Adam and it will go into production soon. Think The Office meets 10 Items or Less.
