Written and Directed by: Eli Roth Starring: virus fodder, hillbillies, unhappy dogs
You see, this is what pisses me off. A great little horror movie like this and I've seen two copies of it on DVD (and bought both) since it's been released. Granted, I live in the middle of nowhere, but still. Of course, no trouble finding crap like House of the Dead. Sometimes I want to walk up to studio heads and beat them with a hose for an hour.
It follows the standard formula: a small group of teens, with the rare genetic default that prevents them from keeping their clothes on for more than half an hour at a time, in the middle of nowhere are exposed one by one to a deadly form of flesh eating bacteria. Flesh falls off, they vomit blood, just generally unpleasant things.
Horror wise, it's got its shair of scares. It's a more traditional horror movie, a good old gore fest. Better than most of the studio made shite out today.
Special features wise, Roth can only be called a God. I mean, five commentaries!? I'm in freaken heaven! And the other specials? Well, just watch the 'Family Friendly Version' and you'll see. This guy knows his horror, and knows how to make fun of it. Chick-Vision was good too, but the Rotten Fruit was the best. Take South Park and Gumby and throw them in the blender with some blood, and voila. Rotten Fruit. Nothing like a foul-mouthed British apple.

I had that genetic defect. The cure? I got old and fat.
Seriously, tho. Next week I'll be winging my way to Carlsbad, California, USA for a couple of days. I'll put this on the dvd list to watch during the 12 hours I'm in the air (round trip).
Nothing, it just had an outer cover much like the "Once Upon a Time in Mexio" release. But, as for special features, you get five commentaries were in Ryder Strong actually talks about his character on "Boy Meets World" as if it were the greatest character in the greatest show in the known galaxy.
I would also reccommend (just remember these words: Less of a horror film, and more of a comedy).
Took me awhile but I finally got this, Eli Roth is either a genius or an idiot... you decide that one
He basically said in the just the guys commentary there was going to be a sequel, so he kills all the main characters which than I wonder why would you need one? But than he called that guy who gave the rifle to the kids at the end and was like I'll call you for the sequel
So I think the sequel will keep the hillbillies and those type and just have some new kids, I just hope they give it a different approach and story
PS. Why do all these people online and elsewhere say they'll never eat pancakes again? That joke I do not get, I got the lemonade one but the pancakes one is a lost concept to me
The movie wasn't funny.... It wasn't scary.... It wasn't even entertaining, really.
I think cabin fever was exactly what not to do in a horror movie... I just didn't get into it as much as some did. I thought it didn't gel well at all and it borrowed heavily from John Carpenters remake of THE THING, in it, they didn't know who was infected and had to lock up and isolate themselves from others.
I dunno... maybe I'm the only one who saw and drew this compare issue, but still... I think it's there.
Well there aren't many better films out there nowadays, well ones that I enjoy in this genre. It's a tired genre and needs to go to sleep but now we have Boogeymen and the grudge 2 and that one with robert Deniro, yeah now the real hollywood talent want to act in bad pg 13 disasters
I'd rather watch prison gang rapes on little pasty white guys than another scary movie that's about as scary as a Poodle
Wow, tell us what you really feel Wesley. But seriously, I did like the movie, and I have to agree with Wesley about the slew of horror/thriller movies that Hollywood are going to try and ram down our throats.
I had started a treatment about a true story that has similar themes to the above mentioned movies. It's about a haunted apartment that was found to have had their the walkway made out of old tombstones (true story). But I've shelfed it for now without all these movies being released.
I guess I should have left a line between black and white, maybe I was a little premature in my critisism of the films
I enjoyed Cabin Fever for what it was, plus I like James Debello. 100 Girls was a better film because of him and his penis extending ball things.
I mean Boogeyman and that Hide and Seek film look okay but Boogeyman looks like Freddy without Freddy. that song the kids were singing in the tv trailor sounds a lot like the freddy one is all i'm saying
