Magnolia is a movie that can only come along once in a blue
moon.

I rented this movie back in 2001 on a whim, thinking it was
another one of them love drama things only my fiance would
enjoy, but I was so dead wrong.

It was a five day rental "at the time BB wasn't doin the 7
day thing" I watched it everyday but like once.

I love the cast, the acting, the story, the setting, the
feel and the truth and need in the movie.

I can't pin point a point a dry spot in the movie and that
is rare for me and movies.

After taking it back to BB, I got it as a gift only a few
days later. Now, if you seen my expansive DVD collection,
you wouldn't think this movie would fit in... I own over 350
and well over 170 of them are HORROR movies.

It's also funny that when asked what my favorite movie is,
by a friend or someone who knows me and my love for anything
fowl and head turning in horror, I say MAGNOLIA.

This is also the movie that got me to actually take TOM
CRUISE serious... I mean, with all them "cool guy" roles he
partook in all them years... this was a change of pace.
Though he was still cool in this too

In the end... I would like to recommend it to anyone. And I
do mean anyone who likes movies.

It's a bit long "like this post" and it is involving, but
that's the beauty of it all... it doesn't matter if it's
either and or. It's simply that good.

Balt...

This is on my list of movies I want to see.

I do like Tom Cruise, a lot, but never got round to watching it in its entirety. I think I caught about 20 of it, but to be honest, I don't remember that bit even...Would like to see it soon...though

CK, add that to your list please...can't wait to see you soon, miss and love you loads xxxxx xxxxxxx

Magnolia is just brilliant. The way Paul Thomas Anderson uses his camera to tell the stories is beyond anything I've ever seen. I'm absolutely in love with his three and a half minute steadicam shots. He's just a genius. He is a filmmaker that is bringing something new and something fresh and he's probably my favourite guy who's working at the moment (besides Scorsese or Speilberg).

There Will Be Blood (his next movie) is definately my most anticipated movie of 2007. Screw Spider-Man 3.

Chism, i think you need to drop your vendetta against the spiderman franchise.

As for Magnolia, i am yet to see it. I've seen a few other Paul Thomas Anderson movies and i loved them.

I Named Him Thor
Footloose, Cut Loose
Tainted Milk
Marshmallows
Confucius & The Quest For Nessie

If you liked some of Paul Thomas Anderson's other work like Boogie Nights or Sydney (better known as Hard Eight), then you'll definately like Magnolia. It's got the same character intensity and interconnectivity of his earlier films, but it's also got a funny kind of sense of humour about itself like Punch-Drunk Love. So, definately check it out. Even if you've never seen any of Anderson's work, it's well worth the look.

Cheers, Chism.
