Opening thoughts would be wow I can't believe nobody told me about this film before. Now it's not spectacular or a great film by any stretch of the imagination but it is what Sin City would have looked like 15 years ago.

In fact if they remade this film for a third time it might actually be the movie it's always needed to be but I will say enjoy this one and hope they never take my advice.

Plot outline:

The comic strip detective finds his life vastly complicated when Breathless Mahoney makes advances towards him while he is trying to battle Big Boy Caprice's united mob.

It has an all star cast including Madonna, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman and Dick Van Dyke to name a few but of course you won't notice them as they are in facial prosthetics (Except Madonna but you do see her nipples in a see through shirt) The prosthetics were well designed for that matter though almost 80% of the characters have facial prosthetics saying half of this city is deformed... A lot of inbreeding maybe or just a lot of crazy guys.

Not much character building but for Pacino, Beatty and The Kid.

It's a simple movie to get into and watch and that's always a good quality.

One thing that is worth mentioning is Pacino basically plays Scarface but an over the top campy version of that character which makes the character really enjoyable throughout.

Overall I thought the film was worth the 8 bucks I paid for it but if it's anymore than 10 I wouldn't bother with it. Rent it and even that's pushing it because the price of renting movies has gone up.

The DVD is the movie, that's it.

7 out of 10

I just rented this movie again, I saw this when I was a little kid and I remembered that I liked it, but now, 10 years later I can see how amazing it really was.  I think Warren Beatty was great, and the supporting characters were amazing, especially by Al Pacino and Dustin Hoffman, even Maddona was good, it was a perfect role for her, and the makeup effects were fantastic, this is great entertainment.  One thing, what ever happend to the kid that played "kid", I haven't seen him in anything recent, I know he was in what about bob(another great movie, probably Bill Murry's best), but I haven't seen him in anything new, he was great in this, I thought he could have been one of the kid actor's that made it like Jodi Foster and Kurt Russel, but he seems to have dissapeard, too bad.

One thing, what ever happend to the kid that played "kid",

The last movie he was in was 'Can't Hardly Wait'.  He played William, the nerdy guy.

Can you believe I still have never seen this movie?  I'm actually disappointed in myself.

Don't feel too bad Guy, it's not really that great a movie. It's been years since I saw it (since it's original theatrical release, in fact) and enjoyed it then, but it's not a life-changing experience by any stretch. It's definitely worth a rental, I wouldn't buy it though, especially if it's a bare-bones DVD.
