Big disappointment. I still don't understand how this is compared to the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", this was very slow and not all that interesting and when it finally does get interesting and entertaining, it ends!!! All the action and violence is basically only in the last 25 minutes of the film, the first 1hr is I guess development for the characters, but it failed to interest me. Their lives were boring.

The villian, I want to laugh at, what a joke. He wasn't intimidating at all. Maybe his hat, but not him, especially with that laugh...dear lord I hope I never have to hear it again.

I do give it applause in "twisting"-it up a bit when Liz died. I thought she would be the only character to make it out alive. Her demise was intense, but I didn't care because she was a pathetic character; example: when she shoots the dude in the shed. Okay, fine, he's down and all, but why ol' why would you punch him in the stomach with the rifile? BASH HIS EFFING FACE IN! and to top it off, she leaves the freakin gun there with the crazy croc guy??? Oh hell...

Ben's escape from the cave with the dogs was actually painful to watch. The only other good scene.

I guess its not a terrible film...its just boring. Boring dialogue, boring characters. Maybe a lil humor(besides the UFO thingy) would have brought life into the story. I recommend it only if you are a die-hard horror fanatic.

When they shot the guy, why, indeed, couldn't they just bash the guy to his death and then just wait till morning and go search for the boy? Idiot chicks.
I liked the villain, I don't know why but he was funny in a way + he was good with the sniper. The old man with his drinking bottle scene was funny. The rest of the movie wasn't good, I even expected more gore.

Cry Wolf was better than this, and the only two things in common is Wolf in the title and a crazy killer.

I'm not going to see the movie because I'm no horror movie fan, but why were the People at (I guess it is call) Wolf Creek, and why were people killing them in the first place, were they just crazy like the family in TCM.

They were there because they were on route to Sydney. And it was just one crazy outback-dude who killed them. It's based on actual events that happened there, hell the guy even resembles the real one.

I haven't checked this one out, but it looked to me like it would be very much like "Saw": everyone hypes it up as being this great, original new horror film, and it ends up being just another so-so fright flick that lifts ideas from other, better movies.  Personally, I think "Hostle," a movie that has a very similar look to this one, will be the next, great horror film.  Too bad damn near every single one of my friends thinks that Quentin Tarantino made it.

Yeah, Hostle does look very very good, and I do believe the guy who wrote and directed was Eli Roth?  Did I do that right??

It looks to me like the next Saw, and it will have a Hostle 2, and it will be a flop most likely, because wasn't Saw 2 a bit on the stupid side?

Eli Roth did Cabin Fever, didn't he?

He worked on Kill Bill too, and yes he did Cabin Fever.  He also worked on Donnie Darko somehow.

Yeah, Roth, a friend of Tarantino's, wrote and directed "Hostle" (as well as "Cabin Fever").  You know, I love Tarantino's movies just as much as the next guy, but I am sick of his name being blasted all over everything.  Remember the "Sin City" posters?

Not to mention "Hero," another film that people had the impression was masterminded by him, when all he did was have the idea of not dubbing it in English for the U.S. market.  I don't blame Quentin.  Instead, I blame the studios who take away thunder from guys like Roth.

This might actually be good. I did some research on it, and I'm pretty excited. I don't like horror, but I can't tell if it is. All I know is that there is a lot of torture sequences, and pretty gorey.

So Quentin didn't do anything with this? It says he did. I'm confused about some of these movie trailers now days.

My dad thought Quentin Tarentino did Wolf Creek coz his name popped up. I was like... "He doesn't do movies like that."

But I was wrong. Hostel probably will be much better anyways than Wolf Creek (A.K.A Wolf Crap.)

I've been meaning to  do a script with some blood and gore.  I have too many projects already.

Gore is a winner in movies, this is gonna be a date movie!

I thought Wolf Creek was somewhat disappointing as well. The cinematography was pretty down-and-dirty and looked like it could have been made in the 70s
(this is especially impressive since the movie was supposedly shot digital) and the villain was cool. It was nice to see the movie tried to move away from the typical "silent killer" and make him more charismatic.

Other than that, I think the build to the end could have been worth the wait but unfortunately the first hour or so was a waste of time. People are making a mistake when they call this "character development." Truth is you know as much about the characters as at the beginning in the movie. Sure, we learn they like to party and talk about UFOs but we know nothing about their personalities or the relationship between all of them. By far, the most developed character was the villain himself, which is ashame since this movie had potential and is already better than the majority of other films that came out this year.

And yes, Hostel will rule (IMO at least).

it's funny because when i slept the theatre was completly full. The i woke up (with about 20mins of the movie left) and half the theatre must of... magicly disappeared.

I hate it when some films try to brag about themselves. Like 'The Skeleton Key' they kept on saying 'an ending that will keep you shocked.' When that happens, you have high expectations for that movie and when you watch it, you might get disapointed. I think they should get critics reveiws first before they start making their films so hyped.

Am I the only one who likes it? Yes, the first half hour is not scary. Boring? No! i'm not going to call it character development-they could have done that on this mvoie in three minutes. More like story development. If they had a gory scene five minutes in, there would be no time to develop story--

Its the developing feeling of tension-you KNOW somehting bad is going to happen..but what..when? That question cause suspence. And just when you think you know where the story is going-BAM! The main  herione is killed.

Yeah, i heard the movie was really really bad. Its still showing around theaters, i might go. Does anyone know the body count and how they died?
