I liked Pi and loved Requiem... That said, I've nothing against "art-house" films. Still, I think movies, at the very least, ought to have a story-line. One that includes character developement -- a beginning, middle, and end.

The fountain, imo, lacked each. It was little more than a collection of interesting shots. Effects.

When it was over, another patron, one that I didn't know, asked, "Is that it?" I, in response, said, "Thank God!" The audience, much of it, anyway, laughed. Because they, too, couldn't wait for it to end.

It was awful. I went to the movie with six people, each agreed.

Afterwards, I read reviews and it seems people either love this film or hate it. Those who love it, see something -- something deeper than I did. Perhaps this something is there -- eternal love, i don't know -- still, it seemed meaningless.

Visually, it was great. If you're into eye candy, this will do, but if you want a story, one that satisfies, stay away!
