This movie really came out of nowhere, I love a good dark comedy but I hadn’t even heard of this until it popped up at as a part of the sinister cinema program at my local theater. The movie follows two estranged friends that are both struggling to make ends meet. Enter a couple with two much money for their own good and a sick sense of amusement and you have Cheap Thrills. The couple continuously dares the two friends for cash prizes, as the stakes grow wonderfully more twisted.

This movie is dark comedy gold. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and it might take some serious suspension of disbelief with this rich couple but if you can, this movie is a fun ride. Cheap Thrills is incredibly involving for the audience, it makes you wonder how far you would go for some extra cash. The movie certainly generates the chaos by the end of the film, but it never feels too insane, I had no problem believing that these characters would do the things they are doing. I really appreciate this movie from a writer perspective in how simple and contained it is, yet it’s such an entertaining little film. I don’t really know what else to say about it but if dark comedy is your thing, give this one a look!

This looks good. I think it's just getting a limited release but I hope it will be playing near me.

Yeah, thanks for this, just watched the trailer, definitely seems like a fun film. Currently on my to watch list after I finished Mr. Scorsese's whopping 3 hour film.

It was good. Ending was a nod at Funny Games, if I'm not mistaken.

Pretty much the same movie was done before as Would You Rather.

Yeah, I did think of Would You Rather when I watched this. I think this movie is of a different caliber though.

Would You Rather was fun, I liked the setting but at times it got a little messy. A little too torture porn for my liking. I found Cheap Thrills to be more interesting because the characters are more developed and the dares aren't overly outlandish. Would You Rather escalates pretty quickly, both interesting movies about human nature nonetheless.

No, Cheap thrills is a better movie. I agree. I was just pointing out that the concepts of the movies are the same.

I couldn't recognize Ethan Embry in this movie. I kept thinking, I know this guy from somewhere, I know him. I had to look him up on imdb and I was shocked to see that it was him. Good stuff from him.

Pretty fun movie, didn't get a lot from it, appreciated the message. It gave me almost like a Pain and Gain vibe, as in, some scenes just didn't give the reaction the director suspect they would. Plus, the trailer just ruins 70% of the movie, I'd avoid it if anybody is looking to watch the film.
