Here are a couple of quotes posted on C and R Writing Center, the site I promised not to plug again, but I can't help myself.

"Have patience awhile; slanders are not long-lived.  Truth is the child of time; erelong she shall appear to vindicate thee."  Immanuel Kant

"Patriotism is the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons." Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) English author, mathematician, and philosopher

"Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forward."  Soren Kierkegaard  (1813-1855) Danish philosopher

I never checked this thread out.

Andrea, always with the philosophers.  They have poisoned your mind.

Here are some I like (and often live by). Some I've heard, a couple are my own creation.

"Every journey begins with but a single step."

"You know who your real friends are when everybody else is dead." (This only applies to videogames. . . please go away FBI)

"Even a hundred foot tower begins with a single stone."

"Love is a four letter word, but then again so it lone."

"Soaking phone-books in water overnight makes them fall a hell of a lot faster than paper strips at parades."

"Through avarice evil smiles; through insanity it sings."

A couple of quotes that I found.

"He who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love." St. Basil

"To be able under all circumstances to practice five things constitutes perfect virtue; these five things are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness."  Confucius

In my high school sophomore yearbook, Andrea wrote, "Great moments of friendship last forever.  They stay in our minds and fill our hearts with infinite joy.  Memories to be treasured and held onto tightly like a precious jewel.  No matter what happens in life, how tough or how bad things can seem to be, as long as we have these treasures, we'll still be able to smile."

I was looking through some of my stuff and I found the book.  This was part of a message she wrote to me that moved me.

"Five bucks for some coffee and some bullshit"
- I think it describes those overpriced coffee houses pretty well.

The bullshit refers to the faux atmosphere they try to pass up as "arty"
