Is there a book or internet resource with agent's addresses...I've found "Writer's Market" which is for authors of books, but haven't been able to find anything for screenwriters.

thanks

You can look in a book called "The Hollywood Creative Directory".

It has info for a tonne of legit agents, production companies and many other places.

Hope this helps.

I know moviebytes.com has a who's buying what guide, you have to pay to see it (pretty typical actually) and I know WGA has a list of agents but does not say what field they are in and such.

You can go to WGA.org and order for $3.99 and get a list of agents that are available.

What don't you have to pay to see?  Good writers are broke.

Advice: Watch out for the ones that charge a reading fee.

I dunno how relevant this is but I couldn't resist. If you wanna find out who represents a celebrity, you could try:

http://www.whorepresents.com

And, no, they don't sell Valentine's gifts.

Yeah that one got me too!

You could visit your local library and see if they have an agent directory you could browse through.  That's free.

http://www.wga.org/agency/agencylist.asp#top

About a month ago I just started going down the list one by one and called them.  When you call, ask for their screenplay submission guidelines BEFORE just sending them your stuff.  There are some who only accept submissions from referrals (read: other agents, studios, actors, etc.) and some who simply don't accept, period.  But of the fifty or so I've called so far, they've all been nicely forthcoming about their policies.

Good luck!
