I always feel hopeless when it comes to research. My current script is set in late 18th century England. How can I find out what it was like - all the details. I'm guessing journals, but how do I find them?

I'd start at the typical place, the library. And the world wide web has everything imaginable to man... You just have to give yourself the time to search. Documentaries too.

And if your going to search the net, make sure your source is reliable. Websites like Wikipedia, though easily accessible, can be devious because any old person can change the text.

What you shouldn't do is hire movies because that's generally a vision from that writers perspective and you should want to be original.

I suggest a time machine. Failing that, read some classic literature from the period. Dare I say Jane Austen? Rather you than me, buddy.
