Well all I can say is that we had better have 24 people contributing to the script club this time, otherwise I am not sure of the point of the poll.

I actually voted this time and if the script I voted for gets picked then I'll join in, if not...well, it depends on the script that eventually gets chosen really.

26 votes! This is going to be the busiest script club ever, Fantastic.

I think all our new members should at least come on and introduce themselves, so we can get things kicked off on the right note. Welcome aboard everybody.

I think that happened with the last one too. Lots more votes than people actually chiming in in the discussion...

I don't think we should be using the vote tool. I don't see what is so wrong with everybody just saying what it is they want to read, no need for secret ballots here really. At least that way those who actually take part get to read the script that they have chosen.

No dis-respect to slabby at all here, but I have read 'The Big Fade', left a fairly lengthy review and probably already said all I am gonna say on it. Not sure there is any benefit to me at all from reading it again.

It would be interesting to know if the 6 people who had voted for it were actually planning to take part, if that really were the case then I would be a little more understanding on it.  But to be honest we rarely get more than 6 people playing an active role in the script club anyway.

Sorry If I am being honest here, but no point beating around the bush. I am very disappointed that we had this list of very fine scripts to choose from and we will end up reading that script, or even worse the bloody X-Files.

6 People voted for me?  Dang, lol well if its anything to anybody, I put my vote toward Public Enemies, and not my own.

And I just realized that mine was the only one that's unproduced on that list (or so I think) so I'm guessing everybody wanted to do a produced one to begin with.  That's cool and completely understandable, just by looking at the listed screenplays.  You can scratch mine out of the equation, no worries.

Its cool buddy.  The draft I have up now is old.  I wrote a new one but its completely understandable if you dont want to read a new draft.  LOL I cringe at the thought of reading a script again myself.  So its all good.

The vote tool is just another sort of experiment to see how it goes. It's true that there have yet to be more than a half dozen people regularly chiming in on the script club threads. I don't want this to jump the shark or anything, so if there is a general feeling of distaste as to which script ends up on top, we won't use it next time.

However, we should consider reading whichever script wins to find out what's so special about it that so many anonymous people would select such a thing. I would certainly hope that those who did vote will participate in the read and discussion simply because it isn't fair to those of us to do participate to read something that none of us voted on.

The idea behind using the tool is so no one feels obligated or pressured to pick a particular script. Granted, we're in a non-facing medium, but sometimes we can still feel some peer pressure.

I would like to say that nothing is set in stone, so if you want, we can just hold a post-it vote from those who will participate (since non-anonymous voting will certainly weed out those who won't participate) right now and be done with it. I want to be clear that I'm open to suggestions, so no one feels like they're preaching to the choir.

I voted on X-Files and if it wins I will participate because I am a fan of the series/films.

Why isn't breanne or Pia's script in the vote? Both were so heavily talk about and ready to go I think I read.

I thought the Big Fade was a script for a film that is coming out soon. Just sounds like one of those movie titles.

Yeah, won't the Pia/Mike collab. be ready be now? Why wasn't that put forward?

I did participate in the last script club, albeit not as zealously as some, and hopefully I'll find something to say this time round. I'm happy whatever we end up reading.

Guess who's back? Back again?

We haven't touched the script since and I think Mike's been busy lately and so have I.
I'll read whatever you guys come up with though. I'm currently reading Cornetto's new one and I'm halfway through A&D.

Cool, that's not a problem at all. Probably overdue a shake up in the script club. So from now on everybody on the boards gets to vote and they only need to join in if their preferred script is chosen. Don't worry about next time, we do not expect any loyalty,  just hang around and wait for one of your favorite scripts to appear. There will always be some old schmucks willing to keep things going till then.

Script Club 11 will be a Star Trek special, so all you trekkies get your votes in early!

Garry, you almost seemed upset there

Personally, none of the Script Club scripts so far have really piqued my interest enough to participate (that and a severe shortage of time) so I think the polling thing is a good idea.

I get what you're saying about loyalty and all but you almost make it sound like a chore, Garry. And I hate chores.
