Yeah but check out the Black List, Trigger street or Christopher Nolan (as Breanne mentioned above) and you'll see that a lot of folk are shunning such formatting rules.

Yeah. One of these day's my cheap a$$ will shell out a shekel for one of them there faaaaancy programs that allow customization. Until then we'll all suffer untold duress.

-- Yep, correct, it is relatively immaterial to the bgger picture.

Please don’t think I’m belittling your question. I’m not. What I was trying to say is that it’s a small issue for me.

I’ve been writing long enough that I can pretty much tailor a script any way I want. I can write on demand. If someone thinking about purchasing one of my scripts told me all they wanted was for me to cut out 6 pages, I would be thrilled to have such an easy task.

Your question is valid. Sorry if I came off as making light of it.

Does double spacing create more white space?  Yes.
Do Industry Professionals prefer more white space as opposed to tons of black ink when reading a script?  Yes.
Does it make common sense for an unsigned writer to double space in order to create more white space?  Yes.
Is double spacing an Industry standard carved in stone?  Apparently not.  Especially if you're Christopher Nolan.

-- I know you weren't and I totally see your point of view. Believe me, I'm not a stickler for rigid format but as the old adage goes, "you got to know the rules before you can break ‘em" and this was one particular issue I wasn't sure about.

Thanks again.

I also see your point Michael, it’s one of those grey areas that ultimately comes down to the preference of the writer.

Col.
