I think you, as well as many other potential / newbie writers have it all wrong.

You see it [rewriting] as a "curse."

It's just product development. Beta testing etc. Prototyping.

Honestly, the writing / rewriting is the easiest bit.

This is one of the best things I've read in a long time and thank you so much for this!

Learning to write is like learning to do anything and the love/hate relationship is something a writer understands. Somehow, we continue on and care for the words like we do our children.
