A few months back, I switched from a PC to a Mac.  I loaded FD7 onto it without problem.  Lately, I've noticed that the cursor moves around while I'm writing.  I have to keep a close eye on what I'm writing or blocks of text will show up a paragraph or two back.  On other occasions, whole blocks of texts delete themselves.

Does anyone else have these problems?  Or solutions to these problems?

Does it only happen in Final Draft?

Happens to me a lot, too.  Something I've just written suddenly disappears, or as I'm reading through a page will seem to vanish into thin air.

I don't know what causes it, but all you have to do is scroll up and down again and it's visible again.

PC to Mac? Obviously more money than I. Mind you, that wouldn't be hard.

Scrolling fixes it. I think it's got something to do with screen update and refresh. FD7 does have some weird quirks. So does FD8 for that matter.

If you're on a laptop it always works better if you plug in a mouse and disable the touchpad. Otherwise it gets up to all sorts of nasty tricks.

At least I know I'm not alone.

I've noticed that it doesn't like the scroll wheel of the mouse, but if you use the arrow keys, it does alright. It doesn't refresh itself very well. Never had it wipe anything out, but I also don't use it for writing.

It doesn't go away for me by scrolling. I have to press Enter somewhere and then it fixes itself.

I had the problem with the track pad.  It liked to decide what to write for me and if it didn't like what I wrote, it go deleted. Be fine, though most FD7 and Trackpads movie would have been in some weird english probably masking as code or something.  Plugged external and that fixed 98% percent of the problems.  Also make sure on the track pad in system settings "trackpad Gestures -->Clicking" that "clicking" is unchecked.

I have a quick Q that I'll throw in here, b/c I'll probably figure out the answer before posting a new thread if I were to do so. Q: In FD7, for whatever reasons my transitions are to the right.  I know FADE IN goes to the left so why is FD sending it to the right and how do I change it? I know there's a way I remember having to do this before, but can't seem to remember. thanks.

Edit: Had to change them manually b/c going to elements looks like they've been changed but meh nope.  Maybe the problem is fixed now it was just sluggish in responding - we'll see.
