You forgot Lord of the Rings! (though I'm not a big fan of the trilogy)

=/ This is about the movie Ringu and it's remakes. Was this supposed to be a joke? It wasn't a very good one.

Ah I didn't know Ringu had more than one remake. And no it wasn't a joke. I thought they were all different.

Sorry if I confused you.

I'll go with The Ring, though Ringu 0 holds a very close second for me. That one was a totally differnt type of film where we see how Sadako slowly loses her mind and becomes the thing the doctor wants to kill. It's one wild ride.

The Ring, however, ties itself together better than the other versions of Ringu. The video ties directly into the plot, and it has a real sense of urgency to it, where Ringu and The Ring Virus don't have that urgency. They know they'll die in seven days, but nothing really prompts them to believe it.

I find Ring 2 better than Ringu 2 for one reason. In Ringu 2, Reiko is killed halfway through leaving Mai to take care of Yoichi. Seems a little hard to believe that the girlfriend of your ex-husband would care for your child. The Ring 2, however, leaves Rachel in the story the whole time making the ending more heart-wrenching and believable in its difficulty. Mai has no such connection and beyond human compassion, seems unlikely to care for Reiko's son.

I liked Rings for what it was: a short leading into the Ring 2. It bridged the gap rather nicely.

Rasen/Spiral is the worst of the lot. It is too much to swallow and believe. You have to not only suspend disbelief for this film to work, you have to hang disbelief at the door and reduce yourself to a child-like frame of mind to even hope to believe any of the stuff it spews out. Maybe it's a faithful adaptation, but it's too much for the screen.

Ringu was the best just because it was the original, and Naomi Watts just makes the movie too hot, so it isn't scary.

Coming Soon:

I finally found the title for my short.

Acronym- You've been warned...
