Say, if anyone's interested, you can check out my demo reel.

It's quiet, so turn those speakers up!

Chris,

That was really good.  I recognize the 'pretty blonde' kid from some pictures that you and Jordan took about three years ago.

BTW, folks.  The script is available to read here:

The camera work in the car is pretty darn good.

Excellent.

Hey Chris,

I think you guys did great!

If I had to pick on anything it would be the long black screens parts. Maybe the dinner chat could be trimmed some and the sound is a little echoey. This however is just IMHO and I'm nobody.

The acting was good too. You guys did really well.

Thanks a lot guys!  I'm kinda nervous about how this will go over with people...never cut a demo reel before.  Glad you enjoyed.

You caught me.  I was eager to put this up (it's been so long since any Marigold anything went on the net), so the audio that's included hasn't been worked yet.  That echo is the unfortunate product of low-budget mics.  It will, however, be significantly lessened (though probably still present, sadly) in the final cut.

Chris; that was a seriously, heavy duty, butt stompin little piece! Excellent job! I understand the limitiations of the equipment in terms of production values, but that aside, the shots you got and the action that you were able to convey using those tools was tight, gripping and kicked some major butt! Nice!

I love the Resevoir Dogs reference in the car. I'm looking forward to this film. I'd watch it. Looks awesome.

I caught the Reservoir Dogs reference too.

Looks pretty good so far (Liked the car chase), and I'll check out the finished product once/if it becomes available.

Looks really cool. I couldn't make heads or tails of the story but the shots were awesome.

Good job.

Just a quick note - this is a demo reel, not a trailer for the movie.  In fact, it's sort of a trailer for me - my capabilities as a writer, director, and editor (and DOP, I guess).  The idea of said demo reel would be as a business card to potential investors, producers, or other industry types.

And thanks again to everyone who's enjoyed.  Thanks to Mike and Chris for calling it a 'reference' to Dogs and not a 'ripoff'...

Ah well that makes sense then.

Btw. I would label the Dogs scene an "homage". That's somewhere between reference and rip-off...

Hey Heretic,

Awesome reel. Definetly gonna have to check out the script. I have to say I kinda dislike the 'Dogs' reference/homage. It was so blatent that it had m saying "did Harvey Kietel ever say 'die quiet?'" I think it actually gives it a stigma of bad amatuer stuff, like a fanboy rip-off which the direction and the other clips don't. I think in the context of an entire film it would be okay but as a clip, it may hurt more than help.

That being said, it still looks awesome. And I do look forward to reading the script.

I just checked this out and it looks pretty good.  The dialogue sequence maybe a tad long for a trailer but then I guess this isn't advertised as trailer.  I loved the quick flash montage at the end.
