Thanks Don for posting this

This is just a fan fic script that I hoped to have finished before Halloween this year but somehow managed to miss it. Being the 30th year since the original was made I wanted to write something to do with my favourite horror series.
It does has a few flaws that I am aware of, might push suspension of disbelief a little too much and it might even plod along as dull as dishwater - but I hope if you do read it ( and after that summary, who could turn down such an enticing offer )there is something you might enjoy!

Will of course be up for reading others scripts in exchange.

Cheers

Malc

Hey Scoob, I'm surprised that this is the first fanfic Halloween remake to be posted. I've read the first 20 pages and so far it's really interesting. I'll give a proper review once I've finished reading.

Finished reading this beast last night, but I was to tired to write a review. So, here goes nothing...

I was surprised at how well thought out this script is. I loved how it stayed true to the series(well, at least up until H20 and Resurrection). In my opinion Halloween 6 is the best sequel, so I'm glad to see the subtle winks that maybe Dr. Wynn is up to something. This really fit nicely in the continuity of the first six films.

You really gave Dr. Loomis's character another dimension in this script. I really liked the slow build up of his character becoming obsessed with Micheal. Which brings me to my next point...

Micheal is incredibly menacing in here, and he does incredibly little! Your attention to his character really pays off and makes the script very suspenseful.

The writing is fantastic as usual, although there are a few typo's here and there.

My only real complaint is the title. "Halloween" makes it sound like a remake, which this isn't. It's a full on prequel. Call it "Halloween: Origins" or something along those lines.

Lastly, since you're obviously a huge fan of the series you already know that H20 and Resurrection ignore parts 4-6(which would also ignore this prequel). We fans never got a real ending to part 6's story. I wouldn't mind reading you're take on an alternate part 7, one that'd finish the "Thorn" concept and bring the series to a proper close.

All in all, great job. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this and I think it'll become a horror favorite here on SS.

Hey Zack,

Thank you for reading this and I'm really glad and , has to be said, relieved you enjoyed it.

Particularly pleased you enjoyed Loomis and Michael in this one and your positive comments make it all worthwhile writing it, so many thanks.

I should have really come up with a better title, I guess "Halloween: Asylum" would be the obvious choice.

Again, thank you for checking this one Zack and if you have something yourself you would like me to read, let me know.

I like "Halloween: Asylum" as a title. You should definitely use it.

Oh, and I don't have anything new up for you to seen. I do have something I'm working on, if you wanna give it a look just PM me.

I haven't read the script (but I will try to at some point), but RE the title, a quick flick through Wikipedia tells me that the day before Halloween - i.e., October 30th, is sometimes called 'Mischief Night'. Something there you could use for a title? The day before Halloween n' all? Or something. In Detroit, apparently it's called Devil's Night. I just think there are SO many films with that kind of MAIN TITLE: SUBTITLE titling. And also, if it's a prequel it's not TECHNICALLY a Halloween film, right? It's something that happens just before. The same way Devil's/Mischief Night is the night just before Halloween.

Mischief Night
Devil's Night
Devil's Night: The Night before Halloween

Actually, maybe that's pretty bad. I will read the script at some point though!

Thanks JonnyBoy for your idea, and one mistake was probably just calling this "Halloween".
I think it needs a subtitle but I wouldnt wander too far as this is primarily a "Halloween"  fan script, prequal or whatnot.
So giving it a different title altogether is misleading and probably wouldnt go down to well with those wanting to check out something other than Michael Myers.

Cheers,

I'm a big Halloween Fan obviously 1-6 and not the one's after, kind of spoiled it my opinion.

I'll give this a read, could you give my script a read when its uploaded please in return?
It's called FURY ...I think it might be up on the weekend or next week, keep an eye out for it.

I'll comment again once I've read this.

Cheers.

Just finished reading it. Took a while but was worth it.

Loved how you fitted it all in so perfectly whilst still having the actual scenes from the original movie in there, Great Job!

Beautifully written aswell, only problem was that some of the dialogue was over written by the characters name e.g. pages 15, 27, 29, 40, 44, 73, 88, 96; Couldn't make out some of the dialogue... Dialogue was Great aswell!

Michael's catatnoic state did annoy me at some times when reading, especially when he was going in for the kill; but very smart biding his time.

The character's were so indivdual, I could easily know who is who, even felt I knew them when reading, felt sorry for Rob, I think it is, the Joker guy with the salt shaker and also Mrs Loomis.

Overall I'd give it a 9.5/10

I agree with some other people the title did need an extra title after Halloween, though there's so many prequal names used like 'the Beginning' etc, hard to think of a decent one without making it sound like a new Halloween 9 and 10 etc.
