This is pretty good, I can see why you are pleased how it turned out. I can also see what Tommy means about the camera though. Overall though it looks nice, congrats mate.
Check out my scripts...if you want to, no pressure.
This was one of the better shorts I've seen posted on here. Awesome music, and visually it looked great. The editor did a really good job on the colour correction as well.
I liked it. You should be proud. The hand held camera added some street atmosphere. VO worked great for the short length of this.
The soundtrack was good too (love those angelic choruses!) though I kept hearing the piece of music we used for the recent OWC. I can't get it out of my head!
Glad you liked it, I agree that the acting was good (especially the lead). Sorry the camera movements got to you, you must not be too happy that we are moving more and more towards a hand-held age.
Alffy-
Thanks for the compliment, I agree somewhat about the camera but I still think it looks great.
Toby-
Thanks man. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality myself. I have two other scripts that have been filmed that I haven't seen yet. The bar has been set pretty high.
Grademan-
I agree about the camera movements, which is why I don't agree wholeheartedly that they made it difficult to view. The situation called for it. And I loved the soundtrack. I never got to hear the music for the last OWC, I was going to enter but life got a little too hectic. Maybe next time!
Since I read the script, had to watch this. The shots we're good, and by that, I don't mean the dude with the pistol was a match-grade shooter.
Cool getting it filmed. The quality was nice.
I'll have to go back and read my impression after reading the script because my impression here is wtf? I get the story, be nice while you can, because you could die any moment. By senseless violence, such as this, or you're a woman, 32 years young, with two kids, plus you're eight months pregnant with number three, and you die from a heart aneurysm you never knew about. Life's a b****, then you die. "Wtf" because I feel it's senseless in watching this tragedy. I don't watch this kind of story for entertainment. Like watching The Departed. Maybe this happened to you and you want to express the tragedy in your art. That's good. Lots of art is expressed from tragedy. I don't like tragedy and I don't want to embrace it, it's too painful. So I save up for when tragedy is real in my life.
Hey Cindy, glad you liked it. The crew actually has plans for some reshoots before it goes anywhere, I asked the director if I could share it in the meantime and he was gracious enough to allow it. Thanks for the comments.
And Mr. C. Martini, thanks for the compliments and the comments. I'm glad it hit and emotional note with you, that's what we're always hoping for when we write, yeah? I hope you never have to go through something like this in your life.
